    Puzzling energy rating

Because the ratio of electrical power in to visible light out falls into the range of values defined as band G. Considering the way that some houses are adorned with thousands of these lights, sometimes for months, I think it's worthwhile to rate them. "Why I light up my garden for more than...

2-gang light switch - how to make one circuit switch on the other?

Stop saying “circuit”, it doesn’t mean what you think it means and it is confusing some of the other replies.

    1910 semi issues

OK, so is it reaching 21 degrees? Is the aim to make it warmer, or to reduce bills? Or to resolve the condensation? You need to be clear about what your objective is. Standard question: how do they dry washing? Are there extractors in the bathroom and kitchen, and do they use them?

    1910 semi issues

“Fairly cold” in the loft despite zero heat input sounds like a good result to me - I’d expect it to be “absolutely baltic”. Well actually having some heating, and turning it on, would be a start. Do they have the heating on? What is the thermostat set to?

Possible to extend wire to shaver socket?

Go to your favourite electrical supplies website and search it for “maintenance free”. The same as the cable you’re extending, probably.

    Electrical vertical radiators/panels

Yes they contain water. I suspect that they have some sort of baffle that prevents the hot water from reaching all of the columns. If this were connected to central heating, you would want to prevent the hot water from entering at one bottom corner and leaving at the other bottom corner without...

OK, in that case the double-pole switch is believable.

Is it safe to ground the light switch with just one cable?

Looking at the photo, I’m struggling to work out what the two switches do. Is this an exact replacement for what was there before? Is anything connected to the L1 and L2 of the far switch? Does the near switch maybe operate two lights on different curcuits?

Leaving taps dripping, to prevent pipes from freezing?

No. Fresh water pipes are inside the house; drain pipes (often) go outside. Outside will be colder than inside. So it does happen that a dripping tap results in the drain freezing where it exits through the wall. Honestly, I think we’ve passed the point where random YouTube videos can be...

    Diy house rewire

Why not? Here in Scotland, they are now a legal requirement. I guess that will be the case where you are soon enough.
