    Please name the part.

The leak is just due to age of the plastic. It has only just started leaking and wasn't when he serviced a year ago, therefore would have been picked up at that time if it was. Good for you you have older boilers on your books. You must be a decent engineer. I am not an...

    Please name the part.

I thought that but it is not. The pipework above is bone dry. When the hot water is turned on, the water comes out of the side port. It's a good few years old now. ;)

    RHobbs Combination Microwave cutting out....

I have removed all the circuit boards and checked for dry/cracked joints. They all appear to okay. So I cleaned around and put it all back together. It still appears to be a lottery using the microwave part. Any other suggestions please?

    RHobbs Combination Microwave cutting out....

Thank you for the reply jj4091. I know how dangerous they can be. The microwave has been unplugged for 48 hours, so hopefully the microwave's magnatron has discharged. What do I look out for on the pcb please?

    RHobbs Combination Microwave cutting out....

I own a Russell Hobbs Comination microwave (RHM3003b). When I operate the microwave part, sometimes it works fine but sometimes it operates for an amount of time (could be minutes, could be seconds) and then cuts out and stops. Just before the 'cut out' all the LED front panelling icons start...

    Water not heating consistently

Happy New Year to you all. What a fantastic start to the new year!!! I have drained the system, removed the exchanger and left it soaking with the SoS. It has come up like new! I put it all back together and refilled the system to check it all works. IT DOES!!! BRILLIANTLY!! The hot tap is...

    Water not heating consistently

Thanks. Not too sure on how to drain just the boiler. The only way I know how to drain the system will be emptying it from the hallway rad, so it can drain into a set of bowls outside lower positioned. So it will be a complete system drain. I will add in some inhibator on refill.

    Water not heating consistently

Thank you for your reply. Right now £55 is alot of money. If I had that sort of money right now I would probably get an engineer to do the whole job. I saw this excllent YouTube video showing how to clean a Exchanger with SoS......

    Water not heating consistently

Hello. I am waiting on my order of Spirit of Salts to be delivered (bl*ody Christmas) so I can flush out my DHW Exchanger. I presume the metal used for the Exchanger will cope with the acidic strength SoS is? I won't corrode and damage it please?

    Water not heating consistently

Thanks MeldewsMate. So I feel I can do it. I presume the order to fix this situation is to:- • Turn of the electrical source. • Drain the system. • Remove the DHW heat exchanger. • Clean throughly. • Reinstall DHW heat exchanger. • Fill system to correct pressure. Is there anything else I...

    Water not heating consistently

I see myself as a confident and competent DIYer, so I would like to know if I am in a position to remove the Heat Exchanger myself and clean it out or is it a job that can only be done by a gas registered engineer please? Thanks.

    Water not heating consistently

Sorry if I didn't give enough history to the system or problem. Is there anything else I should give oever please? Also, is it worth giving the DHW heat exchanger a clean out as suggested with a YouTube clip? () Many thanks. ;)
