How to do piping on radiator

New radiator has arrived. Width is 110cm and actual width for fitting is 112cm. So I need to add spacers either side that are 1cm (10mm) each. Do these exist and what are they called ? Or how would I add this The old rad is not off yet, so I do not know if there is enough wiggle to do this...

Hi, I am fitting a new radiator and it is 120 cm edge to edge. The existing one (will be binned), as the photo shows, it is 112 cm edge to edge. The 15 mm copper pipes run 12 cm above to the floor to the rad as show. The flooring is laminate, there is no way underneath, the (ground floor) crawl...

Fascias : paint or replace with plastic?

Hi MW Roofline I'm sure that the parts list I have spec'd is not full, as it would be, if done by a pro. I did go up to eurocell and asked for some help with a white overcladding parts spec. They said they were understaffed and I haven't got round to going back and trying again. I have shown my...

Fascias : paint or replace with plastic?

Hi Ree The runny paint ran at all times the paint was in use, as soon as the tin was opened. The tin was thoroughly stirred before use, especially because I had never seen a paint that thin before. So I stirred and stirred and it did'nt get much thicker. The paint fell of the brush continually...

Fascias : paint or replace with plastic?

Hi Ree The original intention was to paint or overclad. I was recommended Johnstones Storm Shield paint as the best. I bought it and it was super runny. The idea of applying it upside down with a loaded paint brush did not appeal. The paint would have gone everywhere - I used it on the windows...

I just phoned PPG Architectural, who make Johnstone's Paints and spoke with technical. She said it's a runny paint designed to go on quickly, used by a professional painter. (Explains why many painters I have seen are covered in paint and have sheets down everywhere.) She recommended the...

Fascias : paint or replace with plastic?

Hi Terrypin Thanks. I will be sure to take a gutters/ gutter clips off and have a look behind these for any signs of rot, and check for good attachment to the roof line. I will very likely also replace the guttering and associated fittings and down pipes at the same time.

Fascias : paint or replace with plastic?

Hi Ree, Yes there is no venting on the roofline. The venting is, I think, provided by the 2 mm gap that often occurs between the marine ply used for the fascia and the soffit. The loft gets super hot on a warm summers day, has about 10 inches of insulation wool, and is never damp or moist...

Hi, I have a bungalow with at least 67 metres length of fascias around the building (perimeter). Currently they are painted black. Clearly they need to be painted or replaced. I went round the marine ply that is the fascias this morning and it is solid, apart from a few areas, which could...
