TRV s Thermostatic valves not working on my radiators

It's cold downstairs, I removed one TRV to see if I could prise apart and have a look inside but no joy they seem sealed in a way I can't find easily but weirdly when I put it back it worked so trying playing with the others perhaps they are just stuck like you said.

TRV s Thermostatic valves not working on my radiators

I hope someone can help or at least recomend a good product. A couple of years ago I changed all the valves on my radiators to TRVs. I thought all was working well up until now, maybe it's because I have now moved into the upstairs of my house but it is real hot. All the valves 10 in all don't...

    Water Trap Alternative

Well it's fitted and working, I have a lodger who uses it and no complaints. However when I tested it on the shower being cold, it was still enough resistance to fill the show tray and possible over fill. The gurgling has stopped also. I think I shall fit these from now on, just a pity they...

    Water Trap Alternative

I value your opinion bathstyle but I have decided to go for the HepVO, I have ordered it from my local plumbers today. That link I looked at for the fast flow trap wasn't for a 90mm and the vortex option wasn't as quick. Maybe quick enough but with the HepVO I will also stop the gurgling, hopefully.

    Water Trap Alternative

Yes the actual problem is that the shower floods. The shower is on the ground floor and I have a 40KW combi supplying hot water so I guess you can say there is a large volume of water. I don't think the problem lies with the basin waste because when I remove the internal u-bend on the shower...

    Water Trap Alternative

No it is fitted on the ground floor, from what I have read, I would need a 90 degree elbow to attach directly to the shower waste. Only the shower gurgles, I guess this wont happen when it is dry. There is no gurgling from the basin so I guess also, that the anti-siphon bottle trap is working...

    Water Trap Alternative

Well it sounds like the HepVO is the way to go, thanks for everbody's advice on this. I am looking to purchase one soon, however where abouts do I fit it. I have access to the shower trap underneath and could fit it there before it runs into the main 40mm run. After this run, a basin also...

    Water Trap Alternative

I have recently fitted a Shower Tray, this shower tray came with a 90mm Shallow Trap. All was well until it came to testing it and I found I had a flood within minutes. My drop is 1:40 and the sink nearby drains perfectly so I guessed it was the trap itself. I removed the internal section to the...

    Which Combi boiler?

I researched which type of boiler to fit myself, taking into account value, parts, customer service and having a stainless steel heat exchanger. I ended up personally with a baxi duo-tec 40KW which has the same innards as their platinum edition. Also quite cheap on ebay. Most advice also...

    Waste pipe next to boiler

I may have a problem here. I had to run a sanivite system for my washine machine, I was told by saniflo that I can also run condensate into this. So I installed the unit near my boiler but I had to run the 32mm waste up the corner of my wall and then horizontal to my soil pipe. All works well...

    Howto Inline descaler

Hello, I think I may be a bit thick here but how do I install an inline mains descaler(Fernox Quantomat). It is designed to fit 1/2" 15mm pipes it has a female screw. Is it just a case of using a 15mm compression coupler and one side screws directly and use PTFE tape or do I have to have a...

    Partitioning Kitchen into new bathroom

Thanks for your replies, the reason I am doing this is to make a self contained flat so that I may rent it out for help with the mortgage. We were hoping on doing a loft conversion in the near future and as such we have had an architect round. he has also including the new kitchen(upstairs)...

    Partitioning Kitchen into new bathroom

Hello, I hope someone can help. I am partitioning part of my downstairs kitchen into a bathroom. The bathroom will consist of a shower and basin. At present I have 2 electrical sockets in this room, one at chest height and the other at above head height. I was hoping to blank one of these...

    Boiler Popping

Well I drained the system down, the F&E Pipe wasn't blocked, I also reduced the length of two 22mm pipes from the boiler to relieve the pressure of them being tight around a 90 degree bend. I re-filled the system and added fernox inhibitor and x200 noise reducer. Still getting air out the...

    Boiler Popping

Well I should be able to check the F&E pipe soon, tomorrow after work(Wed). I'm gonna drain the system down and add some inhibitor and X200 noise reducer, hopefully this will clear the problem. The F&E pipe is only hot from about 1metre from the boiler and the vent pipe is still warm but not...

    Boiler Popping

I've been trying to get rid of a clicking noise from my pipes recently. This has got worse since installing TRVs (bi-directional), I have rinsed out all the radiators, added inhibitor and drained all the air, no air seems to be getting into the system, the pump is running ok. I have a small bore...
