On the schedule of inspections, under (c) Protection against indirect contact - When is the 'Presence of residual current device' box ticked?
Also the 'Use of Class 11 equipment' - Does a double insulated emergency light fitting fall with this?
thanks
Gents,
What is required in a 'handover document' for a small commercial electrical installation?
The installation consists of the usual circuits. Also included is a fire alarm and emergency lighting.
I never heard of a handover doc before - only issued certs. - so any help is...
Isolator or switched-fuse?
Should there be an isolator of a switched fuse between the REC incomer and a cu? I have heard conflicting advice on this. In fact, it was suggested that nothing is needed in between. The run is approx 16 metres.
thanks
thanks Salem
talked to a housebuilding friend of mine. He tells me that a fan isnt required if the house has a type of air conditioning unit in it. This is the case with the house in question.
thanks d,
the house is a new build - 1 year old. A power shower was installed but no fan. I thought this was because the room had an openable window...
can anyone provide a definitive answer on this?
dw,
havent actually purchased the cable. just wondering what to ask for/look for when buying. And is there a cost difference? Bought SWA before, but never really looked at it for markings like you suggest.
thanks for the reply
Talked to the NIC (after 5 min hold on an 0870 number) and they say that it is unlikely that supplementary bonding is required in this scenario. But to prove it with a test instrument to keep myself right - If the reading is over 22,000 ohms then its ok. Also to disregard water as a conductor.
