    Surely a door with a handle to open it from the inside would suffice as in your picture "normal door relase with yale lock". So, if the power fails the door can be opened manually from the inside. would this meet the requirements?

    A colleague is carrying out a PIR on an old commercial premises. There is an old pipe that rises up through the floor in this part of the building. This pipe rises up at the positon where an old fireplace was, which is now bricked up. I have had a look and think its a relatively old gas pipe...

    Up at a chaps house this evening. He was extolling the joys of gas that was recently installed in his house. I looked at his meter and could find no main equip bond. I informed him that an earth was required. But am i right in saying only a NIC spark can do this?

    A kitchen is to have a new ceiling put in. Sounds like some sort of wood effect pvc. What sort of distance is required from the top of the old ceiling to the bottom of the new ceiling to accomodate lights? The lighting for the kitchen will be your standard spotlights and i am concerned about...
