I have no paperwork - I just got the job done.
My mate is qualified and is an electrician so I'm pressuming as one he knows what he's doing certainly United Utilities engineer or sunbed installers didn't mention or flag anything up.
I am a ex-project manager, now beauty salon owner with an...
passive is just a hole and pipe/ducted in from an external wall right?
it would be a good start to get "fresh" air in but would that be enough?
meaning... would the air be sucked in by the hot air pulling it?
the rooms don't need heat mate... they are not really rooms... just changing cubiles - think swimming pool type changing cubicle with a sunbed in it.
Are there firms that do (supply/fit) ventalation stuff like this?
thanks for all the replys even the carpet munching ones!!!
Hi Lectrician -
2 sunbeds
yes, they draw 50amp each
Configurations are as follows...
it used to have both rooms on one 6amp breaker:
63 / 63 / 32 / 6(the one that tripped) / on-off
then I added another breaker to split the rooms:
6 / 63 / 63 / 32 / 6(the one that tripped) /...
yeah, sounds worth a shot to despense with the heat into the roof space.
is there anyway to duct outside air into the cubicles/small rooms?
(bare in mind the rooms are internal and not on an outside wall)
I don't know if this is possible, but I could run duct from an external wall...
salon
ground floor only (like a bugalow)
roof space is empty but floor boarded and has one window in the roof space that has n glass... it's sort of a metal decrotive(ish) panel with some apetures.
That is in a way how it is now.
The cubicles go straight to the ceiling so hot air can get into the roof space, while the rest of the same area outside the cubicle is a lowered ceiling.
But it's not good enough really.
I don't have a Electrical Installation Certificate - I ran the wires... my mate (the electrician) installed the consumer unit and terminated connections there.
I don't know the impedance, how important is this?
The cable is I think 1.5 twin and earth.
The lights are daisy chained, feed...
Yeah the CEF guy said they were for motors really but he was thinking onto of the heat it was surge from the sunbeds coming on and off that was being picked up somehow and triping the 6 amp jobby.
At the point where the CEF guy suggested that, a customer who was in the store at the same time...
As said, a technician at an elelectrical suppliers suggested the type D... hence me asking on here what people thought.
I wouldn't want to change them if they were not the problem, I thought that was obvious by the fact I put "suggested if the prob carries on to try a Type D breaker"
The...
Hi,
I have 2 rooms/cubicles that get very hot, I don't really want to fit air-con.
Are there any ways I could ventilate the rooms/cubicles with outside air... or do you have any other ideas?
PS.
the rooms are internal, not on a outside wall.
I'm competant enough to do a simple elec install... I have a ONC in electrical and electro mechanical engineering whch have basic electrical installation covered.
United Utilities engineer came out to have a look iwth the 3 phase inspection... he advised us to "suck it and see" with the...
