Power Flush - Indication of Cost Please

Hi, i live in Wilburton near Ely and the company is based in Newmarket. Many apologies if not making this clearer earlier has caused anyone to imagine it might be a Cambridgeshire guy who is responsible. In praise of a very local guy, we have just come back from holiday to find our heating...

Power Flush - Indication of Cost Please

I am sure it is a rarity to see country prices exceeding those of the city, bengasman! As i mentioned, we paid this bill before the power flush was even done so i don't imagine i can get any redress now but i have definitely learned my lesson the hard way. Thanks for providing details of the...

Power Flush - Indication of Cost Please

Hi again, There is no question that what i have stated is the absolute truth; i only wish it was not the case. I will resolve the issue with the guy first and then post details as i do not want to give him any cause to be able to criticise me if he does carry out this threat of court action...

Power Flush - Indication of Cost Please

Hi bengasman, I quite agree with your sentiments. We have never attempted to waste people's time or haggle on price and, in all honesty, we have always engaged with local people and been treated fairly. I would never tar all craftsmen with the same brush as i know that there are good and bad in...

Power Flush - Indication of Cost Please

Glasgowgas, bengasman and tonybhoy, thank you all for your input. I am not familiar with the technical spec of our system but it is a lpg gas fire with a back boiler. There is a radiator in each room and we have a cold water tank in the loft and a hot water cylinder in the airing cupboard...

Power Flush - Indication of Cost Please

Thanks for the information. We paid the pump invoice sometime ago but i have disputed the power flush and have now said to the proprietor that i will get details of what i consider to be a fair price for the power flush and pay that. It is a regrettable situation all around as we try to use...

Power Flush - Indication of Cost Please

It is a Grundfos 15-50. This was charged at £375 inc VAT seperately. The guy put some chemical in the system when he did this and then the two guys came around a month later to do the power flush.

Power Flush - Indication of Cost Please

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of this link Glasgowgas. Whilst searching this forum leads me to question if the work was actually necessary, I think the task was done properly; two guys around 4-5 hours even though the job caused the overflow to activate and they had to return, it...

Power Flush - Indication of Cost Please

Hi, thank you both for your prompt reply. My enquiry relates to a dispute we have with a company who fitted a replacement pump for us and recommended that a power flush was required. We were invoiced £811 including VAT which we believe to be excessive and unacceptable. The work was...

Further to my last post, can anyone please advise who i can contact, perhaps an industry regulatory board, who can advise of the rules (if any) as to what distance a tank needs to be from the boiler? Thanks again, Tracey

External Boiler and Which Oil Tank Please?

Good evening, further to earlier replies, i have been looking at the Grant Vortex options recommended by some of the guys. There is a significant price difference between the external floor and wall hung models so i would like to understand if a wall hung option is essential for me. Can...

External Boiler and Which Oil Tank Please?

Thanks Doitall. Interesting information about the steel tanks, i recall that is what my parents had thirty year ago. I think plastic is best for me though as i already have a concrete pad which is suitable according to my installer. Kind regards, Tracey
