    Painting new plaster

Though beware of emulsions that do not write that they can be applied on new/bare plaster. i.e. All Dulux Rich Matt, One-Coat Emulsion etc.... Also, dont use any flexible coatings on new/bare plaster.

My interior painting plan: Have I missed anything?

First of all, dont fall into the trap of "buying cheaper" paint syndrome. Gliddens Acrylic Eggshell has not great covering power. You dont need to use Undercoat as Satinwood is self-undercoating. I'll get back to you in relation to your 5 questions...................

Painting over Kitchen and Bathroom Paint

Good question "ub7rm". All above good advice. I personally have had probs with overcoating Kitchen & Bathroom Emulsion. DO NOT PUT ANY MATT OR VINYL MATT DIRECTLY OVER IT.

    interior paint query

Why did you not say all that before, pmsl. However, maybe you have spotted a "flaw" with the paint then. Maybe you have a point in terms of the paint being to good. Therefore, maybe, in your explained situation, then it could the flexibility of the undercoat that stays "un-split" that...

white wood primed pine door. to late to wood stain it?

Well, with Dulux Trade Aquatech Opaque Woodstain they write, "Where the surface has been previously painted, it will be necessary to strip back to bare wood". Hence why i wrote that it aint meant to be done. However, i used Dulux Trade Aquatech Opaque Woodstain over Zamix Coverseal. That...

    Dry lined walls concerns question(s)

The problem with all your questions is they cannot be answered. As reading about an situation is different from actually seeing it. Structural reasons can be causing the probs, Poor workmanship, not enough dabs behind gyproc, screws/nails bouncing. The list can go on and on. Best thing...

First coat of Zinsser bullseye prime: dilute it?

A bit of advice "LindsayO". Don't get to carried away with the claims Zinsser Bin make on there tin. I personally find this paint good for only when used to hard-to-stick-surfaces. Also, best all-round water-based eggshell is Dulux Trade Acrylic Eggshell.

white wood primed pine door. to late to wood stain it?

You CAN stain over Primer. Though it is not meant to be done. However, i have done it before with no problems. Try do a search for opaque woodstain for interior use. Even for internal and externally COMBINED. However, opaque woodstain does not allow any of the woods grain to be shown.

    interior paint query

Oky. Peace Pipe out "Growler", hehe. Thing is, that House Builders put in the cheapest wood they can get away with extrenally. Once Paint fails then the Paint gets all the blame. One example is i painted with Dulux Trade Weathershield on solid wood window sills that are about 20 years...

    Plastering

Well "newcomers" do alot of searches on DIYnot.com on the Topic of people not thinning thirst coat on new/bare plaster ! Also, DO NOT use any emulsions directly over new/bare plaster that recomend that an Sealer Coat is needed.

white wood primed pine door. to late to wood stain it?

You could apply an Opaque Woodstain. However, watch out for any possible reactions with using other brands.

    Dont understand undercoats

Way i see it all "LindsayO" is Emulsions DO NOT need any Undercoats (unless in unique circumstances). Emulsions are mainly for Internal walls & cielings. Emulsions can be applied over each other without an Undercoat. (though beware of matt over silk crocidile effect). Primers (can be used...

    Dry lined walls concerns question(s)

This may not have been the Plasterers fault. As an square edge gyproc may have been used. Then the Builder decided to get Ames Taping done. This can cause the prob you have/had.
