Flueless or Side vented power flue for fireplace

Totally agree, I wouldn't even reccommend a FL gas fie to my ex wife  Then again  Only kidding, only kidding folks  I personally hate the thought of fumes being spewed into a confined area, even with the reccommended air vents etc. Al

    here`s a good un

Now with fear of getting dragged into the squabling, I have come across this problem loads of times, it has always been that the TRV is installed in the incorrect direction. Ensuring the flow was traveling the correct direction sorted the problem everytime. We even had a few systems of...

Flueless or Side vented power flue for fireplace

Haven't come across a power flue for quite a few years, do they still sound like a Harrier J/jet engine? Even so it's a better option than a FL gas fire. Al

    How many?

Had a 600x2000 K2 radiator slip off it's bracket as i was looking down behind it to see if it was hanging correctly (found out it wasn't). I've got a high pain threshold but this almost made me 'hurl' with pain, considering the bottom seam of this munter landed on my big toe and all that was...

    The ol' Potterton Combi 80

Damn, I thought you'd say that, I want to change the board before I do anything with the boiler anyway. They have a good landlord, doesn't mind paying for work to be done. Interesting to know about the LK1 link trick, didn't notice if it had been played about with and had been snipped. Al

    The ol' Potterton Combi 80

Cheers Tony Replacing the board Monday for the correct one, not into bodges myself. Then I've just got to sort out the rest of the problems with the property, mainly not modulating, but hoping the correct board will sort that. Go there to do a landlords safety cert and recieve a nice list...

    Vaillant VCW 242e

Tony, I just thought it was odd to get 3 different answers from a boiler manufacturers technical department, who in theory should know the ins and outs of their boilers. I appreciate it's not the easiest to determine a fault over the phone hence why I was stood in front of the boiler 'testing...

    Vaillant VCW 242e

Cheers, I tested it and left it running on '6' for a good couple of hours Friday and it was running ok, the tenant knows not to wack it upto '9'. Just seems odd getting 3 different diagnoses from Vaillant tech.
