    Decorative concrete

Thanks, The project is becoming clearer and clearer. One question is remaining. What should be the thickness of a concrete layer being layed on top of an existing solid concrete slab so that it doesnt crack easily or chip off. The area in question is a footpath. Will 50 mm be enough or...

    Decorative concrete

Hi, I'm thinking to build a patio in my garden and also to re-pave the exsisting solid concrete footpath (a rather ugly one) using decorative concrete. I want them to look something like this: http://www.concretethinker.com/Content/ImageLib/dfw3.jpg (Well probably not exactly the same...

    To hide copper pipes

Thanks, it'll be too much hassle removing the plaster, plus the pipes go along 2 walls so I dont think there will be enough pipe length to do that (around the corner, if you know what I mean). I'll just go for the second option. Thanks again to both of you

    To hide copper pipes

Hi, In my bedroom there are 4 central heating 8mm copper pipes that are currently nailed on top of the skirting board. I'm changing the skirting and trying to think of a better idea to lay them. Basically, I can think of 2 ways to do this (see images). Option 1. Is it safe to go like...

    To paint concrete slabs

Well, they look not so bad now that I think about it. I re-paved the path turning the slabs over, and the other side looks remarkably clean and free of mold. So I think I'll abandon the painting idea altogether. Thanks for everyone's input!

    Ceiling plasterboards

What type of screws to use to fit plasterboards to horizontal beams in order to lower the ceiling? Never done this before. Boards are 9.5 mm, and the beams are 75 mm thick. Don't want it to fall on somebody's head  With regards, Alex

    Quick one for you, WYL.......

Thanks a lot. It's plain pine floorboards 18 mm thick with tongue and groove lock. Never done this before so a bit worried. Planning to use this underlay mainly for insulation, not so much for noise isolation. Would it be ok? And the last one. Sorry if it sounds silly, but... 10 mm gap on...
