What type of screws to use to fit plasterboards to horizontal beams in order to lower the ceiling? Never done this before.

Boards are 9.5 mm, and the beams are 75 mm thick. Don't want it to fall on somebody's head

With regards,

Alex

Cheers. Will the head of the screw not go through the plasterboard or do i have to put something in between?

Hi Alexx

Use the screws that Zampa recommended. You can get them at all the usual diy places. I would go for 28mm long Gyprocs myself.

When you install them you will have to get them so that the head is just into the plaster board (not in too far but not protruding out either). If they stick out it makes it a nightmare for the plasterer. If your drill allows, you can set the torque on it to suit. Hope that helps.
