Surprised they are already failing! Maybe use polyester coated galvanised panels - very easy to clean. Get with anti-condensation undercoat. Not very expensive either as a fairly small roof.

Yes that's the same MOT Type 1 for compacting as a sub-base :) Used often under driveways, roads and concrete in general!

That seems rather expensive for gravel for drainage! Contact these folk in Edinburgh and see if they'll deliver to you. Bulk bag of washed gravel 20mm £35 or so. Can't offer you any advice on your retaining wall but I'm following your progress as I may wish to do something similar in the future...

Seems a bit pricey. We got various quotes to fit a Charwood C-Six (£1000 stove) with an external flue running 8 metres upwards and got a quote of £4000 with one of the bigger firms. Yours seems like far less work.

Does your stove have the option for an external air kit which will keep the room more sealed? It normally connects under the stove directly to the outside world.

Has to be an integrated one - they have flat fronts whereas most freestanding ones are curved/bulkier. They also don't have fitting points for the sliders.

You can get ones going through a wall into an internal box? I would be worried with having an external box whether or not the postman would give up on putting small parcels through the box e.g. bluray from amazon as the flap on external ones is smaller for security reasons.
