I repaired a diaphragm on a Vailant boiler quite an easy job apart from the rusted screws! Had to do both diaphragms.

It seems to have been frozen at the stop tap in the garage and some point either side of that. There are gaps in the garage door and the tap is close to this. Also there is hemp(?) wrapped round the pipe with areas of bare pipe exposed. When stop tap was defrosted but still no flow I tried...

Well if you have a dodgy connection I would think things will always leak when not in use, as the pressure will be higher. As for the delay is the water pooling inside the case or something before escaping?
