Hi all, Managed to free the castellated nut at last. As suspected, pin has a build up on its surface stopping it moving this all the hot water was pushing around the bypass. A good clean and grease and should be back in business! :-)

The diaphragm is fine, that is working perfectly when hot water is demanded (it was only renewed a few months back), so when water flow is detected, pin moves forward and requests bolier to fire up. All of that works, the preheat circuit gets really hot, just never gets hot water to the plate...

Hi Agile, as above as noted by flying fish the one on the right, flow diaphragm has been removed now trying to undo the castellated nut but it's not playing ball.

Ah okay thanks for this, that will make life a little easier perhaps. System is drained so no pressure in it and the inside of the nut is bone dry with no sign of leakage. Thanks for your replies. Most insightful.
