    Dry lined walls concerns question(s)

Wall taping, yes. Knock with your fingers on the obvious gyproc jionts. Satrting from bottom to top. If it sounds solid all the way up, then it is more than likely the gyproc has been applied over wooden jiosts. However, if it sound changes whilst knocking all the way up then this would...

    Decorating disaster: stripping Emulsion

Wow..... This an Classic example of how all these so-called fixable paints can sometimes cause more problems than it fixes. However, my recomendation is to scrape off as much loose, flaking or blistered paint as possible. Then get an Pro-Plasterer and DEMAND he use Thistle Bond-It as an...

I have not invented it. Also, "Growler" Dulux is the only company that claim the word Microporous is an sales gimmick. Every other company uses the term. Even Dulux Trade has/does use(d) the term in Partnership with Teknos and they call some of there coatings Microporous. So, Dulux...

We all learn from each other "Growler". I do love debates, hehe. I already know about the wording of the Dulux Trade quote. However, usually they have an Date Stamp on there literature. So with this in mind. Then on the Date an statement is made then it can mean 'from then' i.e. When...

Yes they did................. I bought it once 10 years ago and it read Microporous, but then out of the blue they changed it ICI NAD Technology. Also, Thompsons Damp Seal used to write Microporous but they also have stopped it.

They used to write on there tins "Growler". Then they stopped it about 10 years ago. Also, i get the this "Also Dulux Trade do not currently write on the tin that is Microporous due to legal reasons." from my own point of view.

Dulux Weathershield Undercoat & Gloss allows miosture through it, even though it is an Solvent-Based Product. Therefore, by letting miosture through, then it must be porous to some degree. If wood already has to much miosture in it, but then it is painted with mentioned Dulux System, then...

Textured Vinyls can be emulsioned over. For some reason they are breathable but Non-Textured-Vinyls are not breathable. Yes, you can emulsion over Non-Textured-Vinyls though it is not recomended. You can use Vinyl Soft Sheen or Vinyl Silk. Me personally would strip, then line, then...

    Painting over metallic effects

I ask "Instructions" cos paint makers have in the past, "changed there wordings". In terms sealing the stains, well there are loads of stain blockers out there, which work well only in certain situations. This situation you are in is the worst case scenario cos some paints do not "think"...
