Vaillant Turbomax HW problem - yet again. At wit's end...

I am not an experience plumber, but I have a Vaillant, and it gave CH but the HW was sometime fine, for many days/weeks, then suddently there was no hot water, for a day or even two at a time, couldn't fire the HW up, did things like reduce the water pressure (turning the stop cock off slightly)...

coded deadlock? Mum locks door and leaves key in

I bought one of these for a flat. http://www.digidoorlocks.com.au/product_2300.html It cose me about £55 from ebay (they shipped from Taiwan I think). You can set a four digit code for your mum, and a master code for yourself (which enables you to change the four digit code you give...

    Laying loft boards over insulation

Bit confused here - if the loft insulation is just sticking out from between the joists and you lay the T&G at 90 degrees, wont it just compress the insulation, and you can then screw the T&G down? You are not suggesting laying the T&G in the same direction as the joists are you?

    Is this Radial Circuit odd?

ha ha John. Sorry - didn't explain properly - I am making the kitchen smaller to accommodate a bathroom, and where the bathroom currently is, it will be a bedroom, so the sockets I am removing are the ones currently in the new bathroom !!!, that is why they are going and why I need to...

    In Line Centrifugal Fan

OK - As the MANROSE in-line fan instructions reads: "A DP fused spur having min contact separaton of 3mm in all poles must be used and fitted with a 3 amp fuse". I have to oblige - so I suggest to combine both diagram A and B - as such : It seems daft to me that the fan has to have...

    LOW WATER PRESSURE PROBLEM

Seems unrelated to me. The WC will only be taking water once you flush - otherwise it should have no effect on the pressure I would have thought - Have you made sure that the incoming mains tap has been turned fully back on?

    Is this Radial Circuit odd?

Thanks AJ - one double bed, and two singles, kitchen and 1 reception. The sockets are at the lower end of your list, but the rooms are also on the smaller side (it's a flat), but I'll take another look at my plan to see if I should include some more ...

    Upstairs toilet install

One possibility is to use a macerator, which I think building regs allow if youhave at least one existing toilet going in to a stack - you can use smaller pipe and try to tee into the existing soil.

    In Line Centrifugal Fan

Thanks - Yes, left earth out for ease. BUT, if I followed the instructions in the Manrose Fan, they say use Diagram A - that's the DP version - would that still be OK, even though the 3A FCU isolates Light and Fan?

    Is this Radial Circuit odd?

OK - Current position is thus: Originally had two radials, ring, lights, day immersion heater, cooker and shower = 6 circuits (the two radials are on one fuse). I was planning to cut out some sockets on the ring, but keep the ring intact by running some 2.5 between the sockets that I want to...

    In Line Centrifugal Fan

OK - bought the fan, and the instructions say use a 3A FCU to isolate outside the bathroom, but I thought that sometimes a triple pole switch is used. I have tried to draw out both how the instructions say to wire the fan and light (A), and how I thought a triple pole would operate (B)...

Removing a radiator, but has no close valve.

It is a safety thing - if someone switched all the TRV's off no water can flow from and return back to the boiler. The rad without a TRV is usually the bathroom one.

DP FCU off lighting or ring for kitchen fan

Not a ceiling fan and in-line fan situated in the attic space. e.g. http://www.screwfix.com/prods/63459/Heating-Cooling/Extractor-Fans/Manrose-150mm-In-Line-Centrifugal-Fan

DP FCU off lighting or ring for kitchen fan

Installing an indpendent kitchen fan (not extractor) - independent of kitchen light. 1. Can I choose either to use a DP FCU off the ring or lighting circuit? 2. No other form of isolation required?

Do I have to leave a space for grout, pattern tiles

Jest put (e.g.) three tiles together on the ground, try it out with some grout both ways (one set of three tiles with spacers and one set of three tiles without spacers), see how they look, clean off the grout before it dries, clean, re-use tiles, and proceed whichever looked right. You will...
