    you dont need to work as an electricians mate to become a DI. Just do the EAL level 2 VRQ course. Thats what i did. Member of the NICEIC now as a DI

    when u test IR surely you have to take out the cable from the CU. Ive seen examples of this with a probe on the screw of the mcb and croc clip on the earth/neutral bar.     just that on a recent job that i was on , the spark changed the CU and he did test all the circuits but didnt upgrade the bonding in the bathroom. All the time whingeing about 5 day wonders whilst he did his work. Said something about a 4 year apprenticeship. Just goes to show doesn't it.

    just out of interest, are you required to upgrade the supplementary bonding to the bathroom if you change the CU , or is it something that is advisable?

    i can see your point. do use 2.5mm to your socket but remember to fuse down for your lights at your plug top

    where is the 20 amp switch going? u installing this? better to install a fused spur with a 3 amp fuse and then u can take it up to a socket if u wish to plug in ur tranny. remember to fuse the plug at 3 amps too tho

    u misunderstood. i said that cutting the tails after the main fuse wasnt illegal. That part of the installation belongs to the consumer. I have seen many electricians who work live without pulling the main fuse! u honestly saying u dont???
