Normally the tiles overhang the worktop.

Acrypol would be the best product to use, short of replacing the roof but you might think it's cost prohibitive.

Buy a worktop that's deeper than 61cm and cut it down to size.

If going for a brick pier I would have stuck a little coping on top, with your metal bracket poking up through a hole in the centre, always looks better with a coping IMO.

Or a single door with two full height sidelights. Or a single door and bigger windows - and gives more floor space for wellies etc, if that's the point of this porch.
