Texecom Premier 48 - Exp Bell Tamp 03 & Strobe dim

Hi Secureiam, Thanks, that worked a treat. As you say, changing the zone parameters using the keypad and not Wintex worked. Thanks for the advice. Cheers.

Texecom Premier 48 - Exp Bell Tamp 03 & Strobe dim

Anyone any ideas? I can't clear the tamper fault at all. Would a board reset help?

Texecom Premier 48 - Exp Bell Tamp 03 & Strobe dim

Ah ok I did read that in the manual, thanks for confirming. I do actually have 2 Odysseys, which will replace the 2 generic bell boxes I had before. The old bells worked fine as SAB with strobe. I only have the 1 Odyssey connected up at the moment though until I sort these problems.

Texecom Premier 48 - Exp Bell Tamp 03 & Strobe dim

Had this setup for 4 years now. It has 4 expanders and 2 keypads. I've just replaced the generic (non battery) bell box with an Odyssey 5. I have a tamper fault I can't clear - it is saying Exp Bell Tamp 03 on the display. I did temporarily program the aux input on expander 3 to be a bell...

DIY home automation, notification, Part P?

Been away for a week. Thanks for the discussion. Can I ask for opinions on the proposed change to the boiler stat circuit (proposal 3)? The change would be to add a relay in parallel with the existing room thermostat in the hall, and would need some extra 240v cabling. The extra cabling and...

DIY home automation, notification, Part P?

Appreciate the responses - thanks guys. Can I pick this apart slightly please? How would I add a new light or switch to a normal existing circuit (forget the automation for a minute) without adding new fixed cabling? If the wiring to the kitchen light is, for example, in the loft and...

DIY home automation, notification, Part P?

I was expecting 3 to be notifiable (as heating controls), and 2 to be a grey area. However, on scenario 1, 1. I'm just cutting an existing cable and joining it back up again in a box, Is this really "adding new fixed cabling"? 2. Regardless of the fixed cabling question, 2.c.i says...

DIY home automation, notification, Part P?

EFLI, I'm working through the multiple negatives - are you saying that all my proposed work is notifiable, or that none of it is notifiable?

DIY home automation, notification, Part P?

I thought I'd go for a benign, non controversial thread title! If I, as a DIYer, approached you, as an electrician, asking how we could work together to legally interface a home automation system with various existing lights and appliances, what would be your concerns and discussion points...

Automatically trip the main RCD deliberately in a fire?

Hi Adam, Yes incomer is time delayed. Does saying 100ms instead of 30ms not mean time delayed, or have I got that wrong? Yes TT Yes garage board main switch is a disconnector only. RCBO on PV to provide discrimination if earth fault on inverter or cabling. Yes I know that N->E...

Automatically trip the main RCD deliberately in a fire?

    Lay out is roughly as follows. May just be my terminology. House CU 100mA 100ms 100A Incomer/breaker 30mA 30ms 32A RCBO sockets1 30mA 30ms 32A RCBO sockets2 20A MCB Garage 30mA 30ms 63A RCD (Board is split here) various MCBs Garage CU 100A breaker 30mA 30ms RCBO PV 30mA 30ms...

Automatically trip the main RCD deliberately in a fire?

Westie, I was trying to avoid having to use the fire service. However, from the responses, it sounds like waiting for the smoke alarm is too late, by the time that has triggered, the fire has already started. I could have got my hands on an old Vesda sniffer from work, Guess that's...

Automatically trip the main RCD deliberately in a fire?

Adam, interesting points - thanks. Is that still the case given the following? The PV is fed by it's own RCBO in the garage, and all other circuits in the garage CU are independently protected by their own RCBOs. The garage is connected up to the house via an MCB in the house CU. This MCB...

Automatically trip the main RCD deliberately in a fire?

RF, fair point on a fire not going out by itself. Adam, thanks for the explanations. What's your concern with how the PV is connected?

Automatically trip the main RCD deliberately in a fire?

Scenario I had in mind is that the pump runs dry or has a bearing failure and overheats/catches fire. Or, having seen some of the pics posted on here recently, a connector block, or screw terminal works loose causing a fire if there is sufficient load on that circuit.

Automatically trip the main RCD deliberately in a fire?

I was thinking more for when there is no one in the house - ie. when the alarm is armed.

Automatically trip the main RCD deliberately in a fire?

I am idly contemplating how to go about automatically isolating the house power in the event of fire. I have a TT earthing system, a 100ms 100mA 100A incomer into the house and a 16th edition split board Hager CU. All circuits in the house are protected by the split board 30ms 30mA RCD or...

Speedfit straight into Salamander shower pump - no flexis?

I've fitted a 2nd hand Salamander ESP75CPV shower pump, which came without any flexi hoses. I have therefore piped 22mm Speedfit directly to the inlets via 22mm-3/4" connectors, and 15mm Speedfit to the outlets via 15mm-3/4" connectors. The cold feed is separate from the (22mm) cylinder...

Converting a vented cylinder with coil HE to use PHE

I have used a PHE on my CH flow and return (controllable via a 3 port valve) to heat DHW as an experiment. Some subtleties with doing this with my boiler (a 30kW condensing combi) 1. When calling for heat on the CH circuit, my boiler provides minimum heat for 3 mins (8kW) and only then...

    Simultaneous RCD tripping?

The main incomer is a time delay type (100ms) so there is discrimination. The reason for putting it in is that I didn't want any earth leakage fault anywhere in the house causing the main incomer to trip. For 2 reasons. 1. I had some circuits that I wanted to be reasonably highly available...
