...like spoilt children. AFAICT, Rothenberger just re-badge other people's tools, so the Superfire 2 is a Bernzomatic, the Superfire 3 is a Sievert. You may be using it infrequently, but when you do use it you want it to work well. A good motto (wot is mine :D) is to buy the best you can...

if you get a Rothenberger nozzle it won't fit the Sievert bottles unless you get an adapter http://www.tradecounterdirect.com/plumbing-tools/gas-burners-accessories/rothenberger-spare-parts/primus-2000-adaptor_type.html i use that Sievert bottle and a Sievert nozzle for years and its done me...

Plus one on the sievert, the bottle looks like the primus 2000 refillable which i think can only be filled with propane

    Does anyone recognise this?

looks like a Sievert re-fillable propane bottle, not sure what the nozzle is, you can get them from most plumbers merchants

    Gas-Torch recommendation(s)

I'm hoping so. But I've just started looking at the Sievert products, as that has the "versatility" I talked about, and just the bare Promatic handle - no hose, no burner, no nipple, no regulator is at least £90. OK - that is the top of their range, and I've yet to finish getting my head...

    Gas-Torch recommendation(s)

...a badge-engineering exercise then "to answer the question about the super fire 3 its the same torch as the seivert 90" is interesting, as Sievert is a make I'm looking at and that's hardly ever mentioned in this forum. Nor are Bullfinch or Monument. In fact searching for 'monument torch'...

    Gas-Torch recommendation(s)

...seem to be the common choices, often accompanied by the circling of the wagons by each camp, but are there other options? Sievert? Primus? REMS? I've seen some people recommend GoSystem, but I've got one of these (for bonfires and crèmes brûlée), and I can't say I'm impressed with the...

Primus 2000 burner to Rothenberg disposable cylinder

Thanks. What if you have the Sievert burner tuned down and not full on? I have been give a few MAPP gas cylinders.

Primus 2000 burner to Rothenberg disposable cylinder

I've never had a problem exchanging Primus bottles either. About 20 years ago I tried that Sievert burner only to find the black material that surrounds the burner started to melt away after only 10 months. I'd say it's a big NO to using Mapp gas with that burner.

Primus 2000 burner to Rothenberg disposable cylinder

Another point. Can the Sievert burner be used with MAPP gas?

Primus 2000 burner to Rothenberg disposable cylinder

SGM. That is the reverse. It takes a Rothenburger burner onto a Primus (Sievert) 2000 bottle. But getting there I suppose. I want to take a Sievert burner onto a disposable gas cylinder. I have one of these with red knobs, which fits onto a Primus (Sievert) 2000 bottle: I need it to...

Primus 2000 burner to Rothenberg disposable cylinder

I have a very good Sievert blow torch burner that fits a Primus 2000 bottle. It is now very difficult to get these bottles exchanged or charged with gas. Is there an adapter available that will allow the Sievert torch burner to connect to the Rothenberg type of threads on the gas bottles, which...

    Greenpeace: Arctic 30

This is so wrong, I don't know where to begin. Firstly, broadly speaking, demand for uranium from the 1970s never really took off as predicted, owing to politics. This meant that mining companies didn't really look too hard for new reserves. Why would they, when they had enough (more or less)...

    Old petrol blowlamps

These two blowlamps run on petrol, the Max Sievert lamp has a pump on it to pressure it up, the Monitor lamp doesn't have a pump, both are known as self pricking that is to say they are self cleaning everytime you turn it off, the old paraffin lamps you had to prick with a tool that had a fine...
