Decking over former shed raised concrete base?

Hi there, I recently demolished an old shed in our garden and my wife would like to cover the remaining raised concrete slab with wooden decking. Can someone offer me some guidance on how I would do this? Would I need to build a frame of joists on the concrete, or could I anchor the wood...

Cleaning PVA residue from engineered wood floor?

Hi, We just had some engineered wood put down and there is some PVA residue that was left behind from the installers fitting the floor. Is there a safe product that will allow me to remove this residue without damaging the floor? Can I just use a damp cloth and some sort of soap? Thanks!

    Help! Some cracks in Multi-Finish??

Would it be better to take it out and do it again with bonding/hardwall and then multi-finish or level it up with easi-fill and sand?

    Help! Some cracks in Multi-Finish??

Thanks, I've been reading and I think that it was the wrong product (like you said) and dried too quickly. Rookie move, I'll just either pull it out if it doesn't harden properly and try again or try to finish it off with poli-fill and sand (there is nothing in the room so dust doesn't matter).

    Help! Some cracks in Multi-Finish??

Yesterday I filled in the chases that had cables in plastic oval that I made in the wall. I used multi-finish plaster. In general it went OK, but in some of them I have some small cracks that appeared after it started to dry? I have more cracks where I tried to fill in plaster that had come...

    joining plasterboard to plaster?

Hi, I was wondering if someone can explain how to join or fill in the gap between plasterboard and plaster walls. I am taking down the coving that hid the gaps between the ceiling and wall. I also built a box around some pipeing (I still have to put on the corner beading and plaster...

Help me break into main ring to extend?

Didn't really know - just browsed on TLC until I found one that said for insulated crimps. I'm not sure how big the crimps are - I hope that they fit under the socket front. If not, I guess I will have to buy a deeper back box and do more chasing in.

Help me break into main ring to extend?

Thanks ban-all-sheds. I saw something like that, but I think that the current socket will be fairly visible, and my wife wants fancy silver sockets so it will be more difficult to fit that. Hopefully I can get the crimp right in the current two-gang back box. If not I will try the...

Help me break into main ring to extend?

Thanks for the advice everyone. I think that I will try option 1 with the crimping as this will avoid a longer chase up the wall through the ceiling as well as having to cut/lift floorboards and figure out where the wiring goes under the floor. There should be enough room to have the crimp...

Help me break into main ring to extend?

Hi there, Can you help me plan how to add some sockets to an existing socket which drops down from a ring running between the ceiling and the upstairs floorboards? The wall where these new sockets will be installed is plaster, so that will involve chasing. Is there any advantage to...
