    Microwave on to timber wall?

I'm assuming they are 71mm studs, yes. They are 600mm apart, but, the whole wall in the kitchen is 'reinforced' that means that between the studs there are solid pieces of timber, not just insulation, so essenstially, the whole wall is a stud. Interested in your 'science' re the issue of the...

    Microwave on to timber wall?

Hi guys, would really appreciate some guidance. We've just moved into a park home, which by its nature is made of wood and plasterboard. Due to space restrictions, I could do with fixing my microwave to the wall. The kitchen wall is 'reinforced', and is made up of the following ... The total...

    SDS drill question

Hmm, yes, first time I've seen those. Looks good. Just found the garage spec and the concrete walls are actually 70mm thick. So more purchase on there than I thought.

    SDS drill question

Thanks again guys. Have another question on this. My (yet to be delivered) garage is a stadard concrete sheeted garage. Think it's about 300mm thick. I need to insulate the garage (turning it into an office) so need to board it out. Firstly, need to fix batons to the walls. As the walls are...

    SDS drill question

Thanks for that. I guess I just need to know that it will go right through a concrete flag without cracking it. Assumed that power/ speed would help that. Same goes for drilling into my garage wall. Its made of concrete slabs and I dont want it cracking!

    SDS drill question

Hi guys, I need to buy an SDS drill specifically for a couple of small projects. 1) Putting shelves up in a concrete walled garage, 2) fitting wooden posts to a masonry sided patio. 3) Making holes in a concrete flag so as to bolt something onto it. Checking out the deals at Screwfix, There is...

    Fitting batons to concrete fenceposts

Now that's just rubbish isnt it? My cordless Hitachi - used with a Bosch 7mm blue masonry bit, went through the posts very nicely. Battens now screwed on. And for the umpteenth time. If I wanted legal advice I'd go to a legal forum. Dear me.

    Fitting batons to concrete fenceposts

Gaz. That's the whole point. I'm fitting battens to the posts so that the neighbours can - if needed - lift out the panels without disturbing anything on my side. Those post fix things look ok (albeit expensive) but, not sure how you would screw a batten to them??

    Fitting batons to concrete fenceposts

ok, I want to put thin battens on to the posts so I can attach a bamboo screen to them. I dont have an SDS drill, just a normal power drill. Will that do? What size bit should I use?

    Fitting batons to concrete fenceposts

The ownership is debatable. But thats not the issue for this forum. I'm just asking how to fix batons to concrete posts? (with all respect).

    Fitting batons to concrete fenceposts

Hi all, hope you can help. I don't get on with my neighbour (constant loud music, aggression to us, the usual story) , but need to fix batons to their 4" concrete garden posts. I've read that drilling is not the best idea as they could crumble, so would like to avoid that. Any ideas at all on...
