replaced capacitor so far no lock out will know for definate by the morning.

Hi guys, thanks for all the ideas. i will pick up a new capacitor and coupling tonight on the way home, i will let you all know how i get on thank you for all your help so far much appreciated been pulling my hair out :roll:

mate it was the saturday before christmas when the burner started locking out i tried evey where to get a capacitor but couldnt so ended up ringing a local heating engineer who had one in the back of his van i thought it was that to start with i was so sure never gave it a thought that it could...

i did get another copacitor but it was a second hand one that a plumber had in the back of his van so i guess it could be shot i do have a volt meter but am not sure how to check it

i Replaced the motor and pump because of the buzzing i was told by an engineer that it was probly a weak motor caused by a warn pump and advised me to change them both so i did but i still have the same problem :roll: only thing left is that coupling i guess.

Thanks i pretty sure fan is not jaming on anything i moved it slightly away from casing because like you say it can catch the resistance feels like compreson sort of like a small piston compressing air when it reaches top dead centre then goes loose again

yes i bought a gauge and set pump pressure to 100 psi to suit the nozzle so shouldnt be to far out i dont have co2 metre but i realy cant afford to pay someone to come out im well skint. Do you think it could be the coupling? i havent got much else to change.

well i didnt have a new coupling so i used the old one and it was quite warn would this cause motor resistance. i begining to think i spent a lot of money and all it was is a 1 pound coupling?

what is drive dog is this the plastic coupling?

Thanks do you think a worn coupling could cause thre resistance as i didnt have a new one when i replaced pump and motor so used the old one it looked a bit worn

hi thanks for the quick response i forgot to metion that was the fist thing i changed. what else could it be? i feel some resistance if i turn the fan end by hand

Hi please help. My Riello 40 burner lockes out the motor trys to turn but just buzzes and then locks out. I have replaced motor and pump with new ones but guess what it still does it. Please help i have spent loads of money on this thing now. The only way i can get it to start is by pressing...

Hi did you ever get your problem solved i have this problem. i have just replaced motor and pump but still doing it. motor buzzing and will not turn unless give fan a push is this the capacitor please help...?
