Supplier want's to deliver saturated shed, should that be acceptable ?

We seem to have a wet shed brigade here, I am not sure what your points are other than defending shed makers! I have bought plenty of treated timber before and it was delivered dry and yes timber yards that I am used to have large open sheds where timber is stored dry or drying. As for delivery...

Supplier want's to deliver saturated shed, should that be acceptable ?

I think that is a very good explanation and thank you very much, of course what looked like water could easily be preservation fluid squeezing out. Well I only have to wait till Wednesday for the rest of it to arrive and see what's what with that.

Supplier want's to deliver saturated shed, should that be acceptable ?

OK the question was not about rot, as it happens both the shed & base are pressure treated and guaranteed 25 years against ROT, the membrane is as recommended by the manufacturer.

Supplier want's to deliver saturated shed, should that be acceptable ?

You must be in the shed business! I don't think we will agree, my expectation and standards are obviously completely different to yours.

Supplier want's to deliver saturated shed, should that be acceptable ?

Well I don't know what they did but the base so far delivered was saturated to the extent steam came out when drilling and water squeezed out as the screws were tightened, a bit more than what you would get from splashing, more like stored in a puddle!

Supplier want's to deliver saturated shed, should that be acceptable ?

Having disposed of a metal shed with terrible condensation I didn't want to risk a repeat performance and I don't know anyone who has one, I certainly never have.

Supplier want's to deliver saturated shed, should that be acceptable ?

And how would I have found out they do this sort of thing ? I checked them out on TP and they have a good score and most people seem happy, I am simply a victim of the atrocious weather ATM otherwise I would have been non the wiser. I should have been in less of a hurry to solve my space...

Floating Earth on Whole House - Normal?

Could be something wrong with the current shunt, bad connection etc OR depending on how the output of the 723 is connected to the o/p base the lack of a current limiting resistor as the o/p transistors will take a lot more base current w/o damage than the poor little 723 can cope with!

Supplier want's to deliver saturated shed, should that be acceptable ?

I heartily wish I had done so, this doesn't even have any windows to worry about, always the same when you rely upon others, sometimes ok, sometimes not!!

Supplier want's to deliver saturated shed, should that be acceptable ?

Well the floor might be affected as its bearers are supported on a 75mm wooden base that itself is resting on weed membrane directly on the soil, I agree about gutters although expensive I have added them to inherited sheds before with good results, I was intending to do the walls in summer (if...

Supplier want's to deliver saturated shed, should that be acceptable ?

Because they recommend it, saying there treatment is only anti-rot and does not prevent water absorption by driven rain of which I have a lot! Added to that I want to store household items that I don't want getting damp e.g. cardboard boxes, magazines, odd bit's of furniture etc

Supplier want's to deliver saturated shed, should that be acceptable ?

Well I guess it's going to be a suck it and see job, the only bit I need to waterproof before I put it up is the underside of the floor and its bearers/joists. The weather here is horrendous at the moment anyway, very hard to work outside. The supplier has just confirmed they are stored outside...

Supplier want's to deliver saturated shed, should that be acceptable ?

So what your telling me is all the shed makers are as bad as each other and couldn't care less about the condition delivered to the customer, makes them sound worse than the double glazing industry or solar installers!

Supplier want's to deliver saturated shed, should that be acceptable ?

Yup but again given how bad the timber base was this lot already delivered that could take months too.......

Supplier want's to deliver saturated shed, should that be acceptable ?

Ohh dear, so I won't be able to use it till it's dried out and that could be months more importantly I had hoped to waterproof under the floor before putting it down :(

Supplier want's to deliver saturated shed, should that be acceptable ?

Hi, I have just been told by my shed supplier that they will deliver it wet on an open lorry with no covering! This will make it impossible to waterproof prior to assembly as I had intended to store it in my garage and spray it piecemeal. Is it normal for shed suppliers to deliver wet sheds...

    Unstoppable Mold

It may be a combination of cold temperatures (you mention no CH) and high humidity. What sort of dehumidifier do you use, if its a compressor they are useless below about 15C (I have two so that's enough to know), you may need a desiccant although they are about half the efficiency (yes I have...

Load bearing wall removed 10-20 years ago but no BC certificate

I managed to feel with a probe under the other side of the wall (airing cupboard) where there are some holes in the floor for pipes and that shows there is nothing under the wall, it is simply built on the floorboards (that cross under it). Nearest joist is about 3 inches away from one side...

Load bearing wall removed 10-20 years ago but no BC certificate

I agree it was just a faint hope! EDIT: I remember from having a rewire done the joists floorboards are perpendicular to the wall but I didn't take any notice of what was underneath at the time. Cracks are definitely growing, I repaired several last year but they have opened up again. I guess...

Load bearing wall removed 10-20 years ago but no BC certificate

I bought a house several years ago and the seller answered NO to PIF 4.1 (any internal walls removed) and I was not given any certificates. I have now discovered (yet to be confirmed by an SE) that a load bearing wall has been removed downstairs that ultimately would have supported cold water...
