    Robin, are you OK? We don't have a 12 inch hole bashed in our house...and if it was as you said, how would we remove the chimney stack and re tile the roof in 1 day? You're clearly not a tradesman of any repute, so please save your 3000 plus comments for less serious issues

    To be fair I'm an engineer and could've come up with that so called 'solution' on my own. However, as the house is >100 years old, I thought a knowledgeable roofer may offer a reasonable solution or explanation that doesn't involve a complete roof reconfiguration. Thanks anyway

    My sons terrace house has a chimney mid roof pitch. It has a bonding gutter between his and the neighbours house which runs from the ridge, abutting the chimney back. The chimney has a back gutter fitted but the bonding gutter continues below this. Am I missing something or is this a ridiculous...
