Fernox Superconcentrate - injecting via a radiator

Took the towel radiator advice - this worked great, releasing the bleed key resulted in a trickle rather than a flow which was happening with the radiators, used a hose to remove water (the old suck on the end trick) then filled up with the superconcentrate, topped up with water, put the bleed...

Fernox Superconcentrate - injecting via a radiator

Thanks leakyliam - will give it a go over the weekend - I'm a bit surprised at the poor instructions, if anyone else has had a go at this and succeeded please let me know...

Fernox Superconcentrate - injecting via a radiator

Thanks leakyliam... Now going to what's probably a dumb question - what's the best way to drain the water off? I assume it's to actually loosen the radiator connection to the valve? Don't have a tank...

Fernox Superconcentrate - injecting via a radiator

Hmm - the law of physics... :( Really interested in how other people have used the product if I can't rely on the supplied instructions :?

Fernox Superconcentrate - injecting via a radiator

Definately reads; 7. Open the wheel-head valve (or TRV) and inject the Fernox superconcentrate into the system by squeezing the trigger of the mastic gun repeatedly until the cartridge is empty. Re-close the wheel-head valve (or TRV). Release the pressure in the radiator by pressing the...

Fernox Superconcentrate - injecting via a radiator

Hi, Anyone had experience of using the Fernox Superconcentrate products? Just tried to use it, injecting via a radiator, got to the point where I had connected it to the air-vent, next instruction told me to open the wheel-head valve, which I did - the re-pressure was basically too much...

    Plastic or Copper?

Thanks for that - couple of questions off the back of this; How do I tell if I have barrier or standard installed? If it is standard - whilst being inappropriate, what are the concerns, is it a case of a 'must replace'

Loss of pressure - where's the leak??

Hi - guessing people have hit this before - have done a quick search and can't find a recommendation.... My boiler, Worcester 28CDi, is suffering from a loss of pressure, and has been for the last year (since I bought the house) - perhaps 0.2 bar every week... There are no obvious leaks...

    Plastic or Copper?

Had a plumber recently tell me that plastic pipes are NOT a good idea for the following reason; When plastic heats up it expands, where these pipes reach a join this expansion can allow the atmosphere in causing problems such as rusting of metal pipes/radiators... The only way to avoid...

Worcester 28CDI Intermittent Air Pressure Fault

Hi - thanks for the advice - Had a look round last night and found the sensing tube at the top had a hair line crack (where it had over time gone hard) I've replaced this with some generic tubing - boiler is now working fine :D However; Have spoken with Worcester and others - can't seem...

Worcester 28CDI Intermittent Air Pressure Fault

Just noticed that the plastic fan on the fan assembly has broken away - last plumber I spoke to stated that the fan wouldn't make any difference. Could this be causing a fault?

Worcester 28CDI Intermittent Air Pressure Fault

OK upped the pressure from 1 to 1.5 cold last night - shower this morning cut out a few minutes in again... same problem... considering changing the air switch and pipes but as the boiler actually starts up am I focussing on an incorrect area? Should I be focussing more on the heat...

Worcester 28CDI Intermittent Air Pressure Fault

Have heard this once it's failed but not before... If it points to the PCB from what I've read it's best to get bosch in to do a repair fixed fee deal?

Worcester 28CDI Intermittent Air Pressure Fault

MCW59 and others - does this sort the problem out? I have the same issue but thought that a pressure set to 1 was fine, will set the pressure to 1.7 tonight as well and see if that helps unless this is illadvised? Annoyingly the fault only occurs on hot water and never seems to be caused...
