It was recently serviced and I forgot to ask what should the boiler temperature be set at for optimum performance. The range is from 65c...

Smartphones and texting a four or five figure number

Thanks RandomGrinch. I'm a complete newbie to smartphones. Please bear with me. You say, "When you use messages and select new conversation .......". If I receive an obvious scam like "You've got a parcel from ..... please follow this link". What do I do next on my Samsung A40?

I've an Android Samsung Galaxy A40 smartphone. Often you are asked to send a message to a four or five digit number. Recently I had one from BT and another to report a scam text. My search on the Internet has been frustrating referring me to menu items I do not have on my smartphone. Any help...

Protecting underside of steel bath that has 25yr guarantee

I'm replacing a rusted steel bath with another under warranty. To guard against this one going rusty, is it worth painting the underside before install? If so what should I use?

    Outside pipe to oil burner

The oil supply to my central heating boiler enters the kitchen from a pipe outside. The pipe travels underground to the tank some 4 meters away. I would be grateful for info on the following questions: 1. Does this pipe (image) need insulating from freezing? 2. What is the purpose of the round...

    Brushing car carpets

Ever since I can recall, carpets in my cars have been difficult to brush clean. Bits stick to them like glue. Takes ages to vacuum or brush off. Has anyone discovered a solution?

    Stuck drain cover

The photo shows a Kitchen waste water drain. I need to remove the black grill to rod it to clear a blockage. However I can't shift it. There are four holes at the sides. Does that mean it is screwed in? If yes then surely they would be rusted as its been there for 30 years or more! I would...

    Rear view mirror plug problem

Just had a look at the suppliers invoice and covers years 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. So should be a correct plug connector. Five wires in the plug. Will look at the colours tomorrow. Is it possible get a new male and female blank connectors and rewire? Could a garage do it? Keith.
