    Tile Edges - help pls

Hi! I saw a couple of comments about this before elsewhere on forum, but still wanted to ask: I have a few outer corners in a tiled bathroom where the tiles overlap, without a corner trim (my wife wanted them 90degrees...). Now we have white porcelain (carrara marble looking) tiles where the...

Hi guys, A builder is making a shower enclosure in my bathroom (fixing the whole bathroom really), and I am a little worried as regards the water/vapor proofing of the shower room. There will be a lot of steam there. Currently there is a stud wall with plywood (!) on top to ensure stability...

    Fireplace - firetray & thermocouple?!

Hi guys, I have a 20 years old fireplace that has a torn thermocouple cable, and I noticed immediately when fixing it that the head is sitting outside of the firetray/coal bed in the back. The gas comes through a whole in the middle of the firetray, through rockwool etc. Is this normal for...

2 way 2 gang diagram help!?

Hi, thanks, yes I turned off the power and connected a spare lamp. Not very lucky I guess since the cable with live, neutral & earth is on a separate circuit (at switchboard) from the 2-way,2-gang circuit..any chance then or all hope lost?

2 way 2 gang diagram help!?

Thanks for comments. No, I can not access (nor see) the junction box. Yes, I have found another wire incoming with live, neutral and earth (i know this time!). This one actually used to power another wall light and is terminated in a junction box currently. Could I connect the neutral from my...

2 way 2 gang diagram help!?

Hi, thanks for that, but the problem is that the junction box is between the switch and the lamp in the roof already inside wall/ceiling. Therefore I can not access the wires after the junction-box, only before the junction box next to the light switch itself. Therefore, is there any way to add...

2 way 2 gang diagram help!?

Hi guys, oooops, I thought there was live, neutral etc there, but lo and behold..once the front of the box was opened I noticed there are only 2 cables (relevant for this light) with only live/switched live taped wires going between switches and to the junction box. My set-up is exactely the...

2 way 2 gang diagram help!?

[/url] Thanks for this. Yes, I could take the terminal point in the ceiling lamp, but if I attach a new cable there I would have to destroy the ceiling/wall when laying the cable to get power to the wall light..I'd rather not do this unless absolutely necessary. again thanks for looking at...

2 way 2 gang diagram help!?

Hi there, I am doing some diy in our house and would very much like to add a hallway light to an existing ceiling lamp circuit. The existing ceiling lamp is on a 2-way switch system, by the way of using a junction box for incoming power. I believe I could just connect the hallway light next...

Power from socket to wall lamps & spotlight

Hi there, I wanted to ask if it is possible (and ok practice) to use the electricity power from a standard socket through a 2-gang switch (live connected) and to 2 wires with wall lamps (2) and spotlights (4)? I presume lights and sockets should be on different circuits, but wanted to ask your...
