Prepping for Solar - Installing Cable

Yeah, if your supply voltage is too high you risk the voltage drop down this cable causing the inverter to see too high a voltage and just shutting off. In my case our supply is almost always 250V, and at 253V at the inverter it's supposed to turn off. So I installed a really beefy cable.

Prepping for Solar - Installing Cable

He's saying that he thinks that if you run a conduit of some kind it will allow you to pull though whatever turns out to be required when the time comes. If you can do that easily it might be a good idea.

    Electric boiler?

I think what you are missing is the will to take on a challenge. The points you mention (most of which I already pointed out) represent the engineering challenges to be overcome. The storage temperature would have been chosen for optimal trade-off . Bear in mind that these days a lower...

    Electric boiler?

Assuming the whole think was encased in good insulation, which is obviously part of the plan, then you only remove heat when you run water through the pipes, which then travels on up to your radiators or underfloor heating pipes. At the time I did the calculations and it really just depended on...

    Electric boiler?

Back at that time (70's) my plan was a house with a large cellar which I would fill with wax, and loads of pipes going through it. It meant the heat could be stored at a constant temperature (melting point) suitable for heating the house for a year. I found that you could choose a wax with a...

    Economy 7 clock wrong

Whilst I detest these AI answers, the following seems to have an element of veracity: With a 5-wire (5-terminal) SMETS2 smart meter, the nighttime tariff rate and the physical activation of the fifth wire (which powers storage heaters) do not always align perfectly because they are managed as...

Is this article a Red Haddock ???

The whole point was that ebee was promoting the 'truth' that DC was a better form of distribution, but that greedy industrialists wanted to do it cheaply using ac. As he didn't want distribution to cost anything either it lead to the conclusion that either distribution should be at 12V dc which...

Yes, I know, but they have a larger budget than the average household.

Which 220000V devices were you proposing then?

Is this article a Red Haddock ???

For the record, the device in question is £1.30 including VAT and postage from Aliexpress. I'm still trying to work out how ebee is going to convert 220000V dc down to whatever voltage his home device requires, without wasting power. Unless of course he is proposing that the network is...

    Loose Connection

The crimp should be possible to take out by pushing down a tab on the side with a sharp point and then sliding it towards where the wire was. Then you could either squash the wire in place wire pliers or solder. I would probably solder.

    Identify 2 pin connector

I'm not sure how you know what kind of charger to use. The vendor seems to consider a 'smart charger' to be essential (whatever that may be). I also didn't understand how you are showing the battery photo if it's inside a sealed unit.
