Zanussi Built In Hob Continual sparking

When you said switch, I pressumed that you meant another switch which was hidden. What you have said makes sense. I think I'll cancel the engineer and make do with matches. Thanks once again

I have a Corgi chap coming tomorrow. However I have experienced unecessary work being done in the past and want to make sure this doesn't happen again. So am I right in assuming from your comment that in the hob there is a switch that sends power to spark generator, to then spark on hob and...

You will also need a filling loop. It may be worthwhile ordering a couple of drain off taps i your current system hasn't got...

Clever trick wanted for rad pipe stubs

To accurately measure the length of pipe stub required do the following:- 1) Stick a tape measure up the inside of the valve opening where the tail pipe will fit. Just take a measurement. 2) Then hold the valve in front of the existing pipe and align it horizontally, at the base of the valve...

    Air in cold water supply.

Has this always happened. Or have you had alterations done which has caused this. I don't know if there will be any 'back syphonage' occurring, i.e. if somewhere on the cold supply there is any open pipe which can suck air into the system under certain conditions?

    Fitting radiator TRV's problem/question.

You have fitted the TRV on the wrong way round! Undo the compression joint in order to remove the TRV head. TRV head should be vertical not pointing out to the right as indicated on your photo. You may need to remove old PTFE and put on some more before refitting it. Before you connect the...

    radiators

There is nothing wrong using compression joints on a system. You really only have one option in my view and that is to drain system. Remove the old radiator, then replace using either pushfit fittings or alternatively solder if you are sure there is no water left in pipes. The hassle of getting...
