Nooo, just naturally curious

Hi, just had a new meter fitted, Ampymetering 5235A, and the guy who was installing it said that if it was interfered wth in any way a fault/error code would be displayed, the guy was a "jobsworth" and would'nt tell me any more, anybody got any info?
