Well it looks like it is the over heat sensor. Me being me kept taking bits off until I found the sensor and I bridged it out (after some advice). I know it cant run like that but for testing purposes it has now run for 30 minutes without cutting out. All I have to do now is locate a new...

Dan And thats the most likely thing ? Damn I cant go restarting this every 5/10 minutes or so thats to boring for words :)

Dan Is the overheat sensor a little thing that comes off the thermo coupler ? I thought the thermo coupler only kept the pilot going this stops when the boiler is running flat out.

Yet it will the restart totally normally. Still at least the house has warmed up a bit with all these ten minute spurts :)

It runs fine and then after 10 minutes just clicks off pilto and everything anybody got any bright ideas to stop me shivering :)

No it all started normally flame did not particularly increase as I pressed the button. Its running fine I just have to see if it stops after 5 minutes again. Damned thing :o

I will try that, the problem seems to have changed a bit now. I can relight the boiler it seems to run happily for 5 minutes or so and then it just cuts out completely and the pilot light goes off I will relight it again and try what you suggest thanks

Damn it went out again and now I can see clearly the pilot is very weak and I can actually see two little red glowing bits in there would that mean thermo coupling thingy ?

Damn I think I have fixed it all be it temporarily I whelted the gas valve with an hammer :lol:

I dont think its the solenoid as I touch the wire to it I can feel and hear the solenoid bouncing in and out

So basically if there is voltage at that solenoid and the solenoid is working then the boiler should fire up, yes. Am I right in thinking then if it does not then the gas valve is faulty ?

The button is a greeny/yellow one and if I pull the wire off the solenoid as I put it back on I can feel it operating

By the gas vlave I assume you mean the solenoid on the gas valve and yes this has voltage to it. Nobody has turned anything off I am the only one here and it worked one minute and nt the next. I did replace the solenoid about a year or so ago do you think I should take it off and check it ?
