    Lukewarm radiators

Right, so spent most of sat morning draining and flipping the two problem vertical rads. To say they were heavy would be an understatement, had to use the car jack to jack them back up onto the supports! Good news, problem resolved, both rads now heat up in no time at all. Thanks to...

    Lukewarm radiators

Thanks Halisham, I'll flip them both and while I'm doing so see if there is anything obvious on either of them to identify the correct flow and return. They're slightly different designs but hopefully they have the same issue. It'll be a week or so until I can get round to it but will report...

    Lukewarm radiators

Another night, another couple of hours fiddling with our CH system! Looked through all documentation we were left by the previous owner but nothing on the rads, only the boiler unfortunately. Warmed it up from cold again tonight and think I've got a bit further, well with one rad anyway...

    Lukewarm radiators

I'll see what I can find tonight, historical knowledge is limited but I'll have a look through the paperwork that was left when we moved in and see if I can find anything. Failing that I'll see if I can find anything on the rads themselves.

    Lukewarm radiators

Hi All – Right, so I’ve spent a fair few hours over the weekend trying a few things out. I drained down the system completely (water was pretty grey but I wouldn’t say it was filthy), topped up again with water and drained down once more (again water was grey but not too bad). Third time round...

    Lukewarm radiators

No, not all of them, 3 vertical, 3 horizontal and a towel rail. No idea if the return and flow are the right way round or even if they need to be a certain way, only moved in just over a year ago and system was installed in 2009 by previous owner. Vertical 1 (Lockshield right, TRV left) -...

    Lukewarm radiators

Not completely clear no, leaves grey marks on the white cloth I'm using but wouldn't say the water was filthy. Wouldn't say rad was cold at the bottom, just nowhere near as hot as the top.

    Lukewarm radiators

Hi all, back again! Checked all TRV's, removed the top and pins all push down and pop up, all working fine. I've attempted to rebalance the system by shutting all rads off except the problem ones, and turning on one by one. As we moved in a year or so ago and theres flooring throughout I...

Thanks both, I'll give some of those suggestions a go over the next couple of days and report back.

    Lukewarm radiators

Hi All, I have a couple of rads within our property that are running luke warm, I'd be surprised if they're heating the surrounding air at all! Two barely heat up, the other is half warm/half hot. I’ve bled each rad and also closed all rads except the problem ones with the heating on and...

Condensation on bathroom wall from cold water pipe

Thanks both. No bathroom extractor, only a sash window which we open as regularly as we can, bit fresh at the moment to be doing that though! Appreciate we're always going to have this problem in the winter, but is there anything I can do to prevent the paint from cracking and blistering...

Condensation on bathroom wall from cold water pipe

Hi All, First post so go easy on me! Just moved into a new property and with the recent cold weather I've noticed that there is a line of condensation forming on our bathroom wall from a cold water pipe which is running into the flat upstairs (I presuming it's mains supply as it's so...
