Isar HE24 Water Leak, CH Pipe

The engineer was called out to do a service, but I'm unsure what he did and why it was £50. My mother in her age and wisdom is a bit lax when it comes to these things. She says he had an aversion to doing anything and was pushy for a replacement. The leak is from that pipe header, that's all I...

Isar HE24 Water Leak, CH Pipe

I was hoping the engineer my mother had out would investigate and make a decision, but he put his effort into attempting to sell a new installation instead. Since I don't know the part in the diagram (I suspect it's the one I highlighted with a red question mark), then I don't know if there's a...

Isar HE24 Water Leak, CH Pipe

Tony, thanks for the reasonable post. You are right the previous owner left it and there is corrosion. I've not investigated any further but I assumed that it was a seal that had gone and could be replaced. The boiler has been very reliable, after ten years it's only just had the electrode...

Isar HE24 Water Leak, CH Pipe

Hello once again, You may remember the CH pipe of which name isn't mentioned in the manual, on the middle right hand side of the boiler, which in my case is leaking. Since I could get no help on here I left it to my mother to call out a gas safe engineer, then I went cycling Tajikistan for a...

    HE30 Seal Identification

Sorry, when you say hex, this is the seal, or nut on the pipe, or the pipe, complete assembly, or some other part? Thank you!

    HE30 Seal Identification

I'll take a picture tomorrow as the cover is currently back on - a requirement for fixing the E/F error. It's been like that for a long time, evidently the last house owner was too cheap/idle to fix it and just kept the pressure down. The retaining plate has badly rusted as has the bottom plate.

    HE30 Seal Identification

You don't have to ask, an RGI will be coming out to service and check over as soon as I've fixed this final seal. I do not possess the equipment required to service some of the items and hence will make no attempt to touch them.

    HE30 Seal Identification

In no part of the law does it say competency is proven by documents. Competency can vary and be proven by varying means. In this case, I have deemed myself competent and able to demonstrate it, for the procedures I have undertaken. Similarly, I do not deem myself competent in other areas, and...

    HE30 Seal Identification

Too late, I've already successfully fixed it. I've had the gas valve apart, the sump off, the s-trap cleaned, the PCB out and replaced the ignition electrode. competent - having the necessary ability, knowledge, or skill to do something successfully. According to the law, you do not have to...

    HE30 Seal Identification

The final HE30 issue to resolve is a pressure based leak from the seal above the part located in red. I'm unsure which is the seal as I don't recall it having the clip which would make it part 6. Possibly it's the unlabeled pipe in the top left! Any idea on the name of the pipe, which would...

Ideal HE30 Gas Valve Voltage (E/F Error)

Just want to double check, on a boiler which won't reset clear the voltage to the gas valve measures 108V DC, with 240AC (which may be residue). The manual states it should be 200V, others say 150V is fine. Is 108V not fine? The boiler immediately faults which leads me to believe PCB. There's...

    Isar HE30 -> Sporadic E/F

I've got a hateful HE30, which is probably on it's way out. I'm now getting an E/F error. The boiler comes on and seems to try and ignite three times (lots of relay clickings, fan up/down). Finally if it doesn't ignite the error code shows. Occasionally it will ignite and there's a concerning...

    Ideal HE30 Boiler Leak Diagnosis

I'm not one of them, I was unimpressed with the workmanship and can see it being problematic down the road. New boiler time!

    Ideal HE30 Boiler Leak Diagnosis

On inspection, it appears to be leaking from everywhere! The two heat transfer seals are gone, and there's another leak somewhere up a height behind the boiler top bit.
