DIY-kitchens - side panel height different size to cabinets, is it normal?

Yeah, by law. In that list they actually do have others with 'Stainless Steel effect' in the title. No leg to stand on. They've caved and will refund the postage but it shouldn't have taken a back and forth.

DIY-kitchens - side panel height different size to cabinets, is it normal?

I'm not the only one that don't like pelmets though I may well be in the minority. I don't like under cabinet illumination either, looks cheap imo. It's not going to be hard for them to do two different heights and avoid the mess. Regardless, I have one cupboard that's reduced height anyway due...

DIY-kitchens - side panel height different size to cabinets, is it normal?

I didn't because I prefer the look without them. In hindsight... (first kitchen install, will make mistakes).

DIY-kitchens - side panel height different size to cabinets, is it normal?

Tricky colours on mine but I certainly would if I'd gone with white. diy-kitchens are being snotty. They say it's my faulty that their stainless steel handles are not stainless steel because when I added them to the basket I should have ignored the title (which says "stainless steel") and...

DIY-kitchens - side panel height different size to cabinets, is it normal?

They say the reason they don't do end panels to the size of the cabinets is because people like to cut them to fit out of true walls. Thing is the panels are the correct size width wise so this can't be a valid reason. I think for the wall cabinets they should do two sizes depending on whether...

DIY-kitchens - side panel height different size to cabinets, is it normal?

I don't mind cutting the bottom ones, the worktop overhang hides the cut. For the wall cabinets I do feel diy-kitchens have cheaped out not manufacturing to size. Looking at the cabinets (dark blue + graphite) I'm considering not bothering with end panels. It's a bit annoying as it's £200 worth.

Do you have to request it? I didn't have any in the box.

DIY-kitchens - side panel height different size to cabinets, is it normal?

Are you saying two cuts and join somewhere in the middle? I don't have vinyl trim to pick off, they're painted.

They're also sold me "stainless steel" handles which are zinc alloy. Not overly impressed!

DIY-kitchens - side panel height different size to cabinets, is it normal?

So really if you're not fitting pelmets (I'm not) then the finish may be better without an end panel assuming the colour doesn't stand out?

DIY-kitchens - side panel height different size to cabinets, is it normal?

This is my first kitchen so it might be normal. For wall cupboards I have standard height 720mm and one reduced, something like 600mm. All the end panels I've been supplied are 772mm, which means I have to cut them. This I think is a bit ****. Even with a sharp mitre blade it's likely the mdf...

    1/2" to 15mm pipe connector

Trying to find a connector that goes from 15mm pipe without the need for two brass pieces to a 1/2" connector. In other words, replacing the one on the upper right with the one on the left. The snag is the copper as about 3mm of pipe internally which will prevent a flush fit...

    Boiler squirty sound

Recently rebled, I've went over the rads multiple times and I can't find any air pockets. Pressure maintaining and boiler working but temp on display seems to be up and down. Squirting sound happens hot or cold but probably more when cold. It sounds like air but if it is I don't know where it...

Finishing off this under-stairs toilet window

When I overhauled the room 6 months back I removed the old wooden sill and redid the sides so the drywall joined the window edge (having read online that trims are a bodge). With nothing going on the sill area I attempted to keep it clean looking by not having one and using 'tough' bathroom...

Current distance between gas hob and extractor?

That's my backup if he persists. It's not quite as simple as that though as there's a waste pipe and service pipes (HW, CH) boxed into the corner and a window on the side close to that, so I can't just box around the waste pipe boxing. I'd have to think inside the box with some type of 3d...

Current distance between gas hob and extractor?

I haven't refurbished the roof though nor is there any means to get over to the soil pipe venting to the roof or boxing in an area in the bedroom directly above where the extractor pipe would go vertically. Retrospectively applying new-build rules to existing design is of course problematic.

Current distance between gas hob and extractor?

I've got a crappo extractor with no instructions but I've gone for 750mm to play it safe. If it sounds like I don't have much love for the BCO, he commented because I was doing major works at the same time as fitting a new kitchen I'd have to have a vent outside. I asked him how this is...
