    Ok thanks I'll try that.

Baxi 105e tripping when running hot water

Checked that! All ok. Do I need to use contact heat paste on the replacement sensor I fit?

Baxi 105e tripping when running hot water

It has been nearly 12 months since this problem happened with no problems during the year. I usually leave the temperature dials at the "6 o-clock" position but as its been so cold lately I turned the CH up a bit. I ran a bath last night and it tripped again and I had to wait about a minute...

Baxi 105e tripping when running hot water

It was the temperature limit sensor (part no 248079) which is on the hot water feed pipe to the left as you look in to the boiler. The old one didn't have contact paste either so I didn't use it. There was no mention in the manual.

Baxi 105e tripping when running hot water

There are two wires, both green. I'm looking at the larger of the 2 diaphragms (facing towards the front of the boiler) on the valve assembly as it's this one which pushes out on DHW demand. The top (smaller one facing up) has two red wires which operate when there is a demand for CH. Hope...

Baxi 105e tripping when running hot water

It did it again tonight. I took the front panel off and looked at the insides whilst it was tripping. At no time did the diaphragm indicate failure. The electricity cut out to the circuit FIRST whilst the DHW three way valve plunger was STILL activating the microswitch. The lights flicker...

    No, only the power led.

Baxi 105e tripping when running hot water

I remember that that this DID once trip whilst I was diagnosing and the selector WAS just set to DHW and not CH. Hope that helps!

Baxi 105e tripping when running hot water

If the diaphragm HAS gone, surely the DHW wouldn't come on at all? The plunger operates the microswitch when the tap is turned on so it must be working? We can go for weeks using the boiler with no problems with hot water demand. It's just the times in the evening when the CH has been on for...

Baxi 105e tripping when running hot water

Yes, the CH is on as well. It is such an intermittent fault that we can't leave the CH off as it can be 3 weeks before it trips again. It only goes off during PROLONGED hot water demand such as the bath. It never happened before winter arrived when the selector was set to DHW only by the way.

Baxi 105e tripping when running hot water

Thanks for the feedback. I thought the green light indicated the fault. It is the left-hand knob that I have to turn to "0" before turning it back to CH and HW that resets it and not the temperature knob.

Baxi 105e tripping when running hot water

My boiler cuts out whilst usually running a bath and leaves the green 50 (thermometer logo) light on constantly. If I leave it for 30 seconds and reset the dial, it comes on again. I read the manual and it indicates either the overheat sensor or the pcb. I replaced the sensor because it was...

    Tiling professionally in the UK

I spent 2 1/2 years living in Spain where I trained as a tiler. I have now returned to the UK and would like to start up. I realize that tecniques are quite different here. A lot more effort is placed on creating perfectly flat surfaces like using plasterboard for example or having an uneven...

    Baxi 105e keeps blowing fuses

How embarrassing is this?? I have just tried one of the fuses that I replaced yesterday (thought to have blown) in the spur and it has NOT BLOWN!!! What has been happening is the boiler has re-started when I re-connect the power supply after disconnecting it (i.e, like when you change a...

    Baxi 105e keeps blowing fuses

Thanks, I will try that. If it helps your diagnosis, it only blows whilst in the middle of filling the bath. This means that hot water has began to flow for a couple of minutes and has then tripped whilst still flowing. When I try to change the fuse immediately after, it blows within a couple...

    Baxi 105e keeps blowing fuses

The fan is running freely with no problem. It hasn't blown a fuse in three weeks until tonight when it blew 3 in a row. I have discovered that it blows only when the hot water tap is turned on and not the central heating. It is now working again for the moment. Please help!

    Baxi 105e keeps blowing fuses

Thanks. I will check the fan. There is no water leakage visible and surely if there were, the rcd protected fused spur would trip which it isn't. Does the fan only operate when the burner is going?

    Baxi 105e keeps blowing fuses

Thanks. I have checked all connections from the pump to the pcb to the fused spur and beyond and all are secure. It hasn't tripped in 24 hours and I ran a bath with no fault. Surely there must be something serious enough to blow a 13a fuse when it DOES go? (I know there should only be a 3a...

    Baxi 105e keeps blowing fuses

My Baxi 105e trips fuses in the fused spur when running hot water whilst central heating is running. It doesn't happen every time but has done this about 10 times in the past two months. I fitted and RCD protected fused spur but this hasn't tripped indicating earth leakage, it blew the fuse...
