Hi, I've just moved into a house from an apartment/flat after 11 years in relative containment - woo hoo, however i'm a garden novice My first question is thus; I'm creating a nice block paving area at the rear of the garden where the sun shines most frequently (naturally). However as I'm...

    virgin hd freeview to pvr

Can anyone confirm if its possible to take an output from my virgin freeview hd box (new last 2 weeks) and put through my ~2 year old Thomson PVR box in order that I record? The Thomson PVR is a Top Up TV 160GB version and appears to only have a RF input. There are 2 scarts, but I'm unclear...

    DHW lack of temperature

I've just moved in to a shiny new house (new for us that is, its and old property). The house has a 2001 Vokera Linea 28 combi central heating. The system appears to be working fully bar the temperature of the hot water flowing through the show head. The shower is over the bath and is I...

    Glow worm boiler whistling noise

so what is over gassing? and can this in any way be linked to temperature sensor failure or being out of calibration? e.g. if return water sensor is suspect, then will this over shoot? also, I've got what looks like an AAV at high level... perhaps I'll try replacing that in case its causing...

Wiring Xpelair DX400T centrifugal fan for internal kitchen

I've recently refurbished my internal kitchen and the last thing I have to do is replace the existing Xpelair pull cord fan. Under current Scottish building regulations, I believe there is a minimal extraction rate and certain conditions required for ventilating an internal space. As...

Glowworm Boiler Firing control problem & Permanent Live

All, There is a raised pimple but at the non cable end. I presume this still means its ok to replace. Additionally, if I did buy a new valve - should I buy normally open or normally closed? (I would ideally just take the valve and ask for a direct replacement to plumbers merchant)?

Glowworm Boiler Firing control problem & Permanent Live

All, Thanks to contributions above. Upon removing the grey DHW wire the system appears to function properly. As such, it is likely to be a failure of the microswitch on Honeywell 2 port DHW valve. Now...... Can you replace the Honeywell V4043 spring return valve head assembly without...
