I want to render a building that has a mix of dense concrete and lightweight blocks in the walls. Should I do a scratch coat or can it be done in one. The previous answers about render are all different! Can someone explain why a scratch coat is used please?

Thanks for the answers. I'm having an extension wired by a sparky and it was him that told me I should have the delayed rcd. Its a split board and a TT supply (earth rod outside the house). The sparky is going to fit the new rcd, its just that he said it was up to me if I wanted to get instead...

I need a 100a 100ma delayed action rcd fitting to my Volex consumer unit. The cu is only a year old but apparently I need this rcd. The question is are they all the same fitting or must I buy a Volex one? Thanks in advance.

I've got grp valleys to fit. The boards are fitted as detailed in earlier post and all felt is fitted. What I can't work out is whether to nail the battens so they push the valley to follow the contour of the boards, ie: form more of an actual valley, or so the valley sits without any stress as...

I was interested to read the thread about condensation in ducting between fan and outlet. I am fitting a bathroom in-line extractor fan with ducting straight up to a tile vent in the roof. Will I get condensation running down into the bathroom? How much condensation are we talking? I assume...

I have a cut roof of about 35 degrees with a another the same at right angles. I want to fit a GRP valley. Can anyone please advise the width of valley I should fit. Thanks

I've been offered some Monarperm 500. (It isn't knocked off). Can I use it to back a drylined inner leaf to external wall even though it is for roofing?

I need calcs for a pretty straight forward double pitch timber roof 15m x 4m. Would I need a complete set of drawings or can I just get a list of dimensions and fixing requirements to show the BCO? Can someone give a rough idea of teh cost for this please?
