Yeah, the window supplier took a look and said that when they fit them they put a bed of heavy sealant on the floor to sit them onto. So I will have to wait for it all to dry and then seal underneath.

Get one of those wire-y springy type things to shove down it and try and screw out/through the blockage? I imagine the DIY stores have them pretty cheaply, might be worth a go before spending on a tradesman.
