Solid wood worktops - advice on cutting please

Hi, Getting a B&Q kitchen installed and the tops are solid steamed ash about 30-40 mm think. The design of the kitchen requires 4 corners to be rounded on an island unit and an undermout sink hole to be cut. It's not something I think an amateur can do. Does anyone know of someone who...

    Small doorway flush with wall?

Thanks fellas. So you'd apply a wooden frame on the inside of the space, place on a metal plaster board bead to square off the space in the wall, then plaster over the bead, before screwing the hinges into the wooden frame? Good idea with the touch hinges though as they'd be spot on. Cheers...

    Small doorway flush with wall?

Hi, I've just moved an access point doorway to a different area under the stairs. The door way is now on a long stretch of newly plastered wall and I want to paint the door the same colour as the wall so it blends in. Would I need to arcitrave (sp) around the door way and has anyone got any...

Exterior wall round a raised patio?

Somthing like that sounds good. They are thin enough that from the front you shouldn't be able to see them. I'll have to do some investigating :)

Exterior wall round a raised patio?

Nice one Studips. Didn't consider galvanised ropes but they may be a viable alternative if the perspex costs too much. How easy is it to scratch? I don't have any dogs at the minute so they shouldn't be a problem but how does it wear generally. Seen the perspex panels in B&Q used for decking...

Exterior wall round a raised patio?

Thanks for the advice I'll give them a try. Sorry for being stupid but there is a difference between Perspex and Acrylic panels? Also are there pros and cons to each? Cheers.

Exterior wall round a raised patio?

Hi, At the end of my extension there will be a few foot drop where the garden slopes away, so I'm going to need a built up patio so the ground is level with the exterior doors. Also I'm then going to need to have a wall/fence at the edge of this patio to stop the kids falling off it  I...

Bi fold Sliding doors or Sliding patio? Any advice?

Hi everyone, I've been reading this forum for a while and it's of great inspiration to me. I'm getting a kitchen extension built and have been doing loads of research on which doors to finish it off with. It will be a 12 ft-ish space that I'm toying with the idea of filling either: 1) 2 x...
