    Live Spice Rack

I'm now wondering if it's possible it was static electricity... 230V would have been a severe shock and should have tripped rather than what felt like a 12V battery.

    Live Spice Rack

Switched off the boiler at the isolation switch and no electrical shocks... of course no boiler... guess the electrician will be out soon.

    Live Spice Rack

There's a boiler to the left, a socket at ground level far to the right where the fridge is, and a switch for the boiler beneath to the right. There's nothing near the screw holes as far as I can see. The circuit hasn't tripped either.

    Live Spice Rack

So in the spirit of my continued disasters... My spice rack is finally up on the wall. 3 out of 4 screws are in, the 4th just spins. I think I know why it just spins. The spice rack is live, and gives me a solid electric shock if I touch it. So does my gas boiler, which is to the left...

    Drill Wobble?

Well, I need an ordinary drill and this was supposed to be a drill that could also handle the walls. I think I should be returning the drill and the SDS bit set and getting this instead. http://www.toolstop.co.uk/makita-hp1641-13mm-680w-percussion-drill-c-w-keyless-chuck-240v-p12198 I'm...

    Drill Wobble?

A 3 jaw chuck, yes. I'd already picked up (and I guess it makes sense) not to use it for hammer drilling. The third video shows it being used and to my inexperienced eyes it looks like it can't do anything but wobble... I struggle to believe it could make a proper hole. The aluminium case...

    Drill Wobble?

It almost certainly is at fault - I'm fairly clueless. Are you saying though that even with the wobble it should still do the job I need it to do? I have rather tough walls, and the cordless impact drill I was using couldn't cope - even with a new bit it would take 3 or 4 minutes to drill...

    Drill Wobble?

Maybe you should go and see a psychologist about your issues rather than spending your time on internet forums trying to feel better than people. Back on topic... Does anyone have any idea if I might be doing something wrong with the drill? The chuck came with a black screw which doesn't...

    Drill Wobble?

That's staggering. First of all it's a DIY help forum, of course it's full of DIY idiots. What did you expect to find? Needlework? As for not knowing one end of a drill from the other. Well of course I don't. Why do you think I'm posting this thread asking for help? As little as I do...

    Drill Wobble?

Or I'll just decide you're a dick and put you on ignore.

    Drill Wobble?

I don't believe that they'd sell a drill, and a chuck for it, if it was useless. How on earth could that be fine? I can't drill a hole with that, the most I could do is mess up my wall.

    Drill Wobble?

So taking your advice I've put a smaller bit in - I've added the chuck and put in a 3mm masonry drill bit. The intention was to drill a small hole into the plaster and then brick to take a wire spice rack. With the chuck in you can see how badly the wobble is. I may be utterly inept at DIY...

    Drill Wobble?

Yeah, I tried it in reverse to see if there was any difference, there isn't.

    Drill Wobble?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hC6wOqYL9KE&feature=youtu.be I'm not sure. There's another video with no bit in it... have a look at how much it wobbles. Surely that can't be right?

    Drill Wobble?

Are you sure about that Norcon? Without a drill bit the whole thing wobbles visibly.

    Saggy Floating Shelves

I bought a couple of floating shelves from Homebase and they sag. I'm not sure what is causing them to sag, however I'm sure I've installed the bracket without contorting it so I think it's the shelves themselves. Is there anything I can be doing to get them fixed?

    Drill Wobble?

Thanks folks. That's just what I'm going to do. I'm going to get the model up since this one doesn't have hammer only function. The seller replies in text speak and claims not to understand what my problem is. I suspect I'm going to have problems when I try to charge them my postage costs.

    Drill Wobble?

That's what it looks to be.... Can you think of any reason why I might be wrong about it Joe? Even with no bit in at all it wobbles.... I had a look at their history on ebay and they're selling tools at an incredible discount - which makes me think they're stolen or returns...
  19. Q

    Drill Wobble?

Yeah, I've drilled another 5mm hole for a yellow wall plug... the 4mm screw didn't unscrew when I tried to take it back out, the wall plug isn't catching in the hole because it's too big. Emailed the retailer.
  20. Q

    Drill Wobble?

I've only drilled a couple of holes and it's difficult to tell if it's me or if it's the drill, but it's not drilling the right size, it's drilling too wide.
