    Internal Insulation for Kitchen

Going back to the original question, the tanked area will need rendering over to the same depth as the render that's left above it to create an even surface and cover the tanking? Not that I want to avoid rendering, but with it being potentially studded, insulation-bonded over etc., is it...

    Internal Insulation for Kitchen

Yes, all dug out now! It was about 400mm above the internal level, right across the back wall.

    Internal Insulation for Kitchen

It was in some areas, so to speak, with high-level ground up against the external walls, so tanked the lot after hacking off. I've eventually removed the high-level areas also now, so probably overkill.

    Internal Insulation for Kitchen

Hi, Posted this in the incorrect forum, so re-posting here with a bit more clarity: Looking for some guidance on a kitchen renovation/damp proofing diy project, ...... If I were to bond insulation to the walls, then batten over, is it possible to just bond insulation to the tanked area...

    Internal insulation and damp proofing

Hi Robin, Sorry for the confusion! i think you have answered my question though. In a nutshell, i was trying to make up the depth of the removed render and seal off the tanked area, probably an expensive method, thinking about it now. Would you suggest re-rendering over the tanked area to...

    Room Within a Room

Thanks for the reply Ivor! For anyone who has any other input, I wanted to provide some additional information. The cavity behind the stud can occupy the same airspace above the new ceiling; the existing ceiling is being removed and lowered to allow the hob duct to cross to an existing vent. My...

Pulsing Noise from Grundfos Alpha+ pump

Hi, many thanks for the reply. There is no bypass valve between pump and valves, it tees after the pump to CH valve and HW valve. The pump usually stops on demand, it has continued to run twice i think in the last year, when I have manually turned the lever on the CH valve to stop it? I...

Pulsing Noise from Grundfos Alpha+ pump

Hi, I have a Grundfos alpha+ 15/50 pump which is making a pulsing noise intermittently when in the variable speed setting (which is the setting it was set at when i bought the house, and not making any noise up until last year) it runs for about a minute smoothly then starts pulsing...
