    Thanks Harry and Ian. I have followed your advice and my mounting plate is now live. I fed it from the existing fused wall mounted box that serves the boiler. Currently the boiler is controlled by a cheap and nasty wired thermostat in the hall. TUV? At least it's programmable!

    Thanks James. Yes downstairs the water runs hot without cooling at all. Upstairs I can't run a bath full of hot water. Both come from the same source! I hadn't considered a thermostatic mixer..

    Hi wonder if anyone gave give me some direction with this ... my central heating is fine, but in the shower (mixer taps) the water is hot for a minute or so, but then runs cool (but not cold). If I turn the hot water off, wait a few seconds then turn it back on the water flows cold for a time...
