Hi all, My first post here so go easy ;) I am trying to install a dishwasher approximately 3 meters (line of sight) away from the sink which means i need to run a Cold water feed and Drain hose over a distance. The cold water feed isn't a problem and is already sorted, it's the drain i'm...

Extending a washing machine waste hose

The original spigot on the Trap should be tapered to take the inside of the hose , I am guessing that the last time a washing machine was fitted someone may have cut part of the taper off or it was too long , the hot water trick should work, or cut back the hose. Make sure the waste pipe is...

    Dishwasher drain hose query

So i wouldn't need the loop on the back of the machine as well? I was going to extend the hose and run it under the kitchen units i.e. along the floor, then up the back of the sink unit and onto the drain spigot.

    Dishwasher drain hose query

Hello I wonder if anyone could advise on a query for me. I am looking at installing a dishwasher, however it is not next to the sink. I was intending on purchasing a drain hose extension and have measured the route the hose could take under the kitchen units then over the hardboard back of...

Washing machine filling with sink water

the easier way: the flexible waste hose for the washer must loop up, and the top of the loop must be higher than the water level in the sink when it is full. If you attach the loop to the underside of the worktop, that will probably do. Use a couple of cuphooks and a piece of string. or you...

Whilpool ADP 262 Dishwasher gradually fills with waste water

The waste hose from your washer, I am guessing attaches to the waste from the kitchen sink. The hose must be looped up so that the top of the loop is higher than the water level in the sink when it is full, otherwise the sink will drain into the machine, as in your case. Attach it to the...

    Bad Egg Smell in Kitchen

does the waste hose from the washing machine connect to the sink trap? If so, does it rise in a loop, where the highest point is higher than the max water level in the sink? If not, dirty sink water (and bacon fat, tealeaves and cods heads) can run down the hose into the washer.

    Floor Drain without trap

It is a whirlpool and is a semi commercial one. Should have said it is in a commercial situation. Was trying to find out if I would get away without the trap by sealing the pipe into the blank or bite the bullet and dig up the floor to install the 110 P Trap

What make is the washing machine? Never seen a gravity drain washing machine before. All washing machine drain hose has to goes up to just below the top of machine then loop over to into stand pipe or connect to sink trap with nozzle. This is the normal standard. Daniel.

    Polluted drinking water from Dishwasher

If turning the valve off stops the taste, yes, get a new hose. They are usually blue. You can get an extra-long one which makes it easier to move the machine. There are some white ones made for drinking water that are used for water softeners. Don't lose the rubber washers in the connectors...

Washing Machine filling with dirty sink water (Ed.)

I think I can see what you mean, the actual trap leads to the washing machine and not the waste, right? Does it just need turning round the other way?

Washing Machine filling with dirty sink water (Ed.)

The washing machine drain hose need to go up to bottom of sink / worktop and loop over before connect to sink trap. That will stop water from sink going in machine hose. Did anyone noticed the trap.....? That sink trap is fitted wrong way. Washing machine hose is connected to outlet of a...

Smells from sink when appliances drain - need anti vac trap?

The loop-in waste lines from your appliances should leave the appliance connection, and quickly rise to be fixed below the work top, and then be fed through to the sink cabinet, where they will drop and pick up the trap hose connectors. Your loop-in lines are drooping, and coming up from low...

    Dishwasher filling up

look at the waste hose where it connects to the sink trap. It must loop up so the top of the loop is higher than the water level in the sink when it is full. This can be done by clipping or tying the hose to the underside of the worktop, or by leading the hose through a hole right at the top...

    Washing Machine Drain Hose

I've just got a new washing machine and it states that the drain hose should be routed a minimum of 40cm off floor level. My standpipe is directly behind the machine (offset to the left). The drain hose exits the machine at the top back right of the machine, so with it looped downwards and back...

Correct way to plumb waste from dishwasher please

Apologies if this is answered elsewhere. I searched but couln't find anything bang on point. So my old dishwasher eventually gave up the ghost and has been removed. The waste hose simply exited through a hole in the external wall at ground level and then dropped down about a foot into the...

Advice cleaning dishwasher - tried vinegar and baking powder

yep, you need to read the instruction book. I don't understand why the makers badge says "Siemens" but you say it is a Fujitsu. the waste hose is too low, it needs to be looped up so that the top of the loop is right up against the top of the work surface. If it is lower that the water...

Why does my kitchen sink smell like roeen eggs..???

Aha The washing machine and its hose may have a sludge of decomposing soap and fabsoft. Has the washer had a maintenance wash recently? If not give it a HOT HOT HOT cotton wash with no powder and no fabsoft. Put some old white towels in if you have them, but no synthetics. If it foams...

Waste pipe in kitchen causing smell

the dishwasher waste hose is run wrong. It should be looped up to a high point under the worktop, where the top of the loop is higher than the water level in the sink when full. Where you have got it, dirty sink water, including bacon fat, tea leaves and peas, can flow down that hose into the...
