4 new Tyres but none balanced?

Found them! I've just had a closer look and whereas the weights that had been removed were all on the outer edge - visible in between the spokes, the weights this time have been put on the inner edge closest to the axle. I'm guessing it doesn't make a lot of difference providing they are balanced?

4 new Tyres but none balanced?

Just had 4 new tyres fitted on the wife's car and none appear to have weights attached, been balanced. There are no obvious issues with vibration or steering wheel judder but I can't recall ever having a wheel escape without some lead attached? Is this unusual?

    Low spot on Patio...

It's one of those things I'm aware of and would like to improve and asking a couple of people to walk around to see if they can identify the low point they find it easily so it's not just in my head.:) The missus has her eye on some expensive garden furniture and I don't want to have to put a...

    Low spot on Patio...

No, it's a repeating but random pattern of 5 different sized slabs. I've tried flooding it with water to see if it puddles but the free draining mortar puts a stop to that idea. If I was to lift a couple of the slabs where the issue is I'd need to back track, lift the next and the next and so on...

    Low spot on Patio...

We had a new floating (not butting up to any walls) patio about 10ft square laid a few months ago and it has an obvious 'indent' towards one side. Walking across it you can feel it drop away but putting a 6' straight edge across it shows just a few mm difference of around 5mm from one angle...

Looking for window supplier who can supply similar?

We've been looking locally and online for companies that do the style that we want with the opening that we want. Thus far, of the UPVC companies contacted it's 'here's our catalogue', sizes adjusted to suit but they don't step outside their current range. We can go to a timber window...

Looking for window supplier who can supply similar?

Of the one's we've found, they offer a range of openings but not with a casement that is hinged at the top, nor with single bars down the centre, top and bottom.

Looking for window supplier who can supply similar?

This is the better one of 3, one of which has about a foot wide and inch deep rotten section at the base, and all have been repaired previously. The missus favours a bit of easy clean UPVC so exploring all options!

Looking for window supplier who can supply similar?

We have some old Boulton & Paul timber 'Cottage' windows - see photo - that we'd like to replace in UPVC or timber, but cannot find a supplier who does the same format off the shelf, i.e., fixed bottom pains and single opening casement above. Any suggestions, Essex area preferred...

    Strangely isolated damp problem...

Update: Our house is an addition to what was once a stand alone detached property next door. The Chimney stack brickwork is not bonded into the old chimney on one side and it appears that water is coursing down the gap in between the two as the mortar joint is degraded. Some mortar also needs...

    Strangely isolated damp problem...

Tell80 What advice have I ignored? Bristol Ben made a suggestion, which, whilst valid, would in my opinion be an extreme measure at this stage. You asked a number of questions which I answered to the best of my ability and have only just come back with a somewhat acidic reply! That you need...

    Strangely isolated damp problem...

Update to thread... Following a brief burst of torrential real cats and dogs rain a fortnight ago we had just a few drops of rain dripping through the upstairs bedroom ceiling at the edge of the chimney breast. A heavy downpour for the next hour or more did not worsen the flow, a single sheet of...

    Strangely isolated damp problem...

There is some evidence of damp at the rear corner of the stack where it joins the walls either side. To put it into perspective the room was decorated and wallpapered 4-5 years ago and has only just started to present the dark patches. The wall to one side may be lath and plaster.

    Strangely isolated damp problem...

There is nothing to see, other than perfectly dry sound walls apart from the patches. On the roof? There's not a fireplace in the room above. We moved in 35 years ago and there wasn't one then. They have a new log burner downstairs. Suspended. Yes. Damproofing paint has worked well on the...

    Strangely isolated damp problem...

We have a longstanding issue with a strange re-occurrence of damp spots either side of a chimney breast in an internal party wall of our semi detached Victorian house. One patch about a foot square just above the skirting, another on the other side about 6" square about 18" higher, and a small...

    Double glazing drip strip???

We've recently had some upvc windows fitted. Above the header on each one is a full length strip with a 2mm upturn along the leading edge. Some project at 90 degrees, others the nose drops down a couple of millimetres but on 2 of them the nose is 5-10 mm in the air. There's a good mastic seal...
