    Conduit fittings - 1 1/2"

I am trying to identify exactly what they are. As they are stored with other conduit fittings I thought they were similar in design, but am unable to locate make or the part number F42 and only have photos and dimensions to fo on. Do you think they are not conduit fittings but for another...

    Conduit fittings - 1 1/2"

I have about 100 of the new boxed clamps in 2 sizes (first and 2nd picture) and about 100 assorted sizes as seen on the table and in the large brown box behind them shown in the 3rd picture. it just seems such a waste to scrap them. I suppose I could offer them on Ebay all together and hope...

Yes it is - wasn't sure whether to continue on old topic or start new for different fittings.

These are photos of some clamps which might help identification - I assume they are described as conduit clamps ?

    Identifying conduit items ?

I have attached photos of some extremely old heavy conduit items - if any one could identify them and let me know if they still have any current use or are basically scrap, then it would be extremely helpful !

Very old but brand new BICC 3/029 cable reels

This is what I am trying to establish. As long as it is legal to use, then it will be legal to sell. If it is not legal to use then of course I will send it for scrap. I have been told various things - one of which is that it would not be legal to sell for electrical use - but I could use it in...

Very old but brand new BICC 3/029 cable reels

Many thanks for that it was very interesting. i think I will try a few reels on Ebay, emphasising the age of cable etc. and see what happens. If there is no interest then I will feel more comfortable and try the local scrapmerchants. Again. really helpful so thank you.

Very old but brand new BICC 3/029 cable reels

I have just weighed the reel and it weighs 2.4Kg. The reel is cardboard but the centre which holds the coil, is metal. I have no idea what the copper would weigh, a fraction of the reel weight no doubt. I have checked and there are approx. 30 reels of assorted mixes of colours: white/violet...

Very old but brand new BICC 3/029 cable reels

After that length of time, is the pvc still sound ? Does cable have a shelf life ? The short bit of pvc that I stripped from the copper core was flexible and sound and the reels have been kept in a dry building for all these years.

Very old but brand new BICC 3/029 cable reels

Many thanks for that. As suggested earlier in the forum I have checked the price for the 6491X which seems to range between £10 and £16 (ex VAT) per reel of 100 metres, so if I list the various colours on Ebay for say £4 per reel of 100 yards - as long as I make sure it is clear that the 4491X...

Very old but brand new BICC 3/029 cable reels

Does the voltage a cable is used at make a difference to the minimum standards required ? What I mean is, if the 4491X has been superceded by the 6491X which is thicker copper - and only the 6491X is permitted to be used with mains voltage in UK - then does using it for 24V and 50V or even 110V...
