I am just wondering why you need to have an independant water supply to shower pump. At the moment, the cold water tank only seems to feed the immersion heater? Can i not simply T-off of this and pipe onto the shower pump. I just want to know the consequences of this as draining the cold...

Isolate means disconnect if you are lucky enough to have more than one trip switch in your fuse cupboard you can simply turn off one switch that controls that bank of sockets. This allows you to have lights in the remainder of house etc. If not switch of the main switch and then turn back on...
