Leaking Kitchen Sink (Plumber or DIY?)

Our kitchen sink has suddenly started leaking and unsure whether to attempt to fix it or call in a plumber. Hoping someone can help! I've read some similar posts however not sure exactly where the issues lies; and whether I have the tools for the job. It leaks when the sink is being used...

    Changing B3 to B22 Socket

Thanks John. Makes sense. I will have a go at tidying this up. The fixture is only holding a bulb but can see it being a risk in the future if someone tugs on the socket when changing a bulb.

    Changing B3 to B22 Socket

I wanted to avoid messing around with it further however can do if it is a safety issue. I wanted to know if there is any danger is not sitting the cables as per the diagram? The cables fit within the housing and the socket closes cleanly.

    Changing B3 to B22 Socket

Ok. So managed to hook this up however had a final question. The cables do not fit snuggly over the new socket. The wires are not exposed however the cables are not saddled over the socket - they do not follow the "s-shape" illustrated in the diagram or how socket was installed previously...

    Changing B3 to B22 Socket

[/url] Oh great. Got it now. When I first attempted to take it apart only the bottom of the socket came off. With a little more effort the top of the socket came loose. Looks relatively simple to swap over. Thanks.

    Changing B3 to B22 Socket

Thanks. Looking at this product - suitable match (without needing to cover the base)? http://www.screwfix.com/p/british-general-6-pendant-set-white/22210

    Changing B3 to B22 Socket

Happy New Year! We have one bedroom that has a 3-pin bayonet fixture (the rest of the house has 2-pin). I am looking at changing the 3-pin to a 2-pin. I wanted to know if I can simply keep the base (already screwed into the ceiling) and simply changeover the hanging part? It appears...

    Replacing Electric Wall Heater Wire

Not certain the best state of play here. There doesn't appear to be anything under the label. The wire colours vary: Brown, blue, yellow Brown, blue, black However these may not well be from the panel heater as there seems to be mixed cabling due to the extension work. Feels like...

    Replacing Electric Wall Heater Wire

Thanks for all the responses. I am pretty certain these panel heaters were installed when the property was built. The property was built around 7/8 years. It seems the safest is to turn everything off prior to doing any work. I haven't tried to remove the panel from the wall, but I can...

    Replacing Electric Wall Heater Wire

I have added close up photos of the box. We have 5 heaters, so assuming that 5 to 9 relate to the wall heaters. I suspect the previous owner moved the heater in question because it is the only one in the property that sits away from the power outlet. Under the tape is wire extension device...

    Replacing Electric Wall Heater Wire

The previous owner attempted his own repair job on the Electric Wall Heater. I suspected he moved it and did his own wire extension. Anyway, I am looking to replace the wire. I am hoping this is an easy job however want to avoid frying anything. It is a Stiebel Eltron CAEC 750 Panel...

Replacing or Reparing Paxton Key Fob

Do you know if it is safe to drill through the top half (closest to the ring)? I have seen a fix where you insert a metal ring through a similar type of fob? What is an "enrolment card"?

Replacing or Reparing Paxton Key Fob

My apartment entrance fob has recently broken. It still works however the ring part has snapped. Is there an easy and affordable way to replace or clone this fob? Is this something a local locksmith can do or do you need to go back to the original security firm? (My fob is similar...

Cannot Change Lightbulb - B22 Hanging Fitting

Think that answers the question. It must be a bc3 fitting and needs a three pin bulb. Can I change the fitting myself? All other fittings in the house are two pin.

Cannot Change Lightbulb - B22 Hanging Fitting

That's a good point. The existing bulb never sat properly in socket. The socket appears to have groves for three pins. I assume a two pin bulb cannot fit into a three pin socket because pin alignment is different?

Cannot Change Lightbulb - B22 Hanging Fitting

We have a light fitting similar to the one pictured. I think it is a B22 fitting. I have gone to replace the cfl light bulb but cannot align the pins on the bulb. Seems fitting is damaged or maybe I am using wrong bulb? Note we have an identical fitting in another room - so think it is an...
