what seems like mains supply (could be switch) cable has usual live, neutral, earth but the ends of the wire have thick, multiple metal ends as opposed to normal wire that is wired into normal pendant even if I twist together with pliers am unable to fit into pendant

change ceiling pendant but fuse wire is really thick? I want to change ceiling pendant (have done others fine) issue is 2 wires down from loft, first is fine but second has thick fuse wire unable to wire into normal pendant any advice?
